YouTube just recommended me an episode of "4 wheels live" with Marc and westgate, and it just memory blasted me with the image of Marc as a casino dealer doing another version of these weird shows. Does anyone remember this? Am I losing it? Does it exist anywhere?
were these part of that eric bragg subscription service thing? might be false memory but i think that was a thing.

a marc related memory that came to me this evening was his time on otherness...or maybe he helped start it? i was never clear on the details but thought it was cool. RIP to one of the greats

Were these tricks used in anything? I only vaguely remember the first clip.

Great article, I actually have that one on my site

Do you happen to have a scan of the short MJ interview from Skateboarder magazine issue summer 1997? I used to have the magazine but lost it years ago. Been looking for that interview but no luck so far.

So from the issue with Bam dropping in? I will look, I own that issue

Edit: the 20 Questions feature?

Yeah, I think so. If he mentions Unwound, that’s the one.

Not my best work re: scanning - just took a quick picture with my phone. But here ya go!

Marc's answer that is 3rd from the bottom re gnarliest thing seen sounds pretty extreme. Anyone know if this has been discussed in more detail elsewhere?

Used to watch your parts all the time but it’s hard to do it now. Hope you and Dylan can laugh and skate and enjoy peace.

let’s go home

Must have been in some Adidas thing but that’s all I’m able to recall.

that’s ai.

It really does look so but its just the slo mo making it look weird and of course what ever editing he does. He shared another one right after from a wide angle, full speed, multiple tries. Its legit. In full speed/raw footage it looks way more natural.

Not sure if it's been posted but apparently this is the last video MJ had clips in, Adidas - Reverb 2021

He has 3 tricks at 3:12, not sure if he has more later in the video, haven't had time to watch the whole thing.
Probably not tho

Thanks, these are great.

Blunt kickflip and kickflip blunt back to back in SF is classic MJ.

Imagine if Adidas did a shared part between Busenitz & MJ. Such different styles but it would’ve made so much sense. Marc was definitely still skating at his level during this time on Adidas. People expected way too much. The internet fried brains and he tried to warn us.

Here’s a few more clips from that same time I’ve never seen. Front blunt at LA High is so damn good.

Back when Marc first announced Business and Company on Instagram he had posted pictures of stickers he was having made. I don’t think he’d even posted any decks yet at that point. I messaged him and asked how I could order some stickers. He wrote back and said not to worry about sending any cash, he’d hook me up for free. I got an envelope in the mail from him and it was stuffed full of these Dylan stickers he had made. It’s the same as his tattoo. He wrote some lyrics from a Graham Nash song on the envelope. The song “Better Days” from Dylan’s Gravis part. I gave several of the stickers to my friends that are MJ fans, and kept the others. Here’s 3 of them I’ll mail to three of you if ya want. For free. Only requirement is that your mailing address is in the US. Just reply in here if you’d like one. Tomorrow (Thursday) at noon I’ll put your screen names in Woorise site that randomly will pick 3 names and I’ll mail one to each.

This part is not getting enough love with most of the Tilt Mode attention (justifiably) going to Man Down. Flip manual whip around to sw flip sw manual is one of my favourite MJ clips. The line on the parking lot banks between all the cars is up there too.

Love to hear stories like that. So damn cool.
Sir, I'm going to politely, but firmly, ask you and your common sense to leave this establishment.

VERY underrated part

My introduction to Yo La Tengo. Hot damn Marc was a cool motherfucker. His level of influence is undisputed.

This song works so well with all the slow mo. So many heavy single tricks. My favourite kickflip fs noseslide ever. The switch noseslide cab out has the most iconic MJ rollaway ever. One of my favourite parts from him. It’s as good as his Man Down part.

The awesome thing with Marc’s career is that we got to see him film parts with just his friends in between all the other stuff. That to me makes those two parts even better.
