They freaked out the crazy homeless at first but other than that not really. I’ve drunkenly kicked at one and it followed me for a bit tho. Mainly they’re just kinda cute , tourists like them. Sometimes they get stuck in cross walks and it’s sad other times they’ll ask you to press a cross walk button for them and use you to get through the cross walk and then they say thank you at the other side .

This is really funny, my neighborhood is full of Waymo “driverless” cars and apparently more than half the time they’re being driven by dudes in the Philippines in simulators. The actual self driving is way overstated.

@RCB3 As far as the little delivery robots, they definitely aren’t all over the city, they’re fairly limited to some nicer neighborhoods with good density (downtown, koreatown, the westside) and nobody walks in LA so they don’t disrupt foot traffic too much. For the most part, people ignore them and let them do their thing. I even think they’re sort of cute. I do have a friend that will try to get a little crook bonk if we ever skate past one

The notion of remote controlled passenger vehicles opens up way too much room for a potential nefarious takeover, car hackers have probably already figured out how to override the signal link and take control of them...

Waymos are everywhere here but I read that they were pulling out of the city (I still see them daily).  It recently rained a ton and Waymos were driving straight into the water in flooded areas. 

Also fuck Waymos and fuck these little "cute" delivery robots too.
