watched this through again and i am in the middle of a third viewing--a few thoughts:
a big sloppy raspberry to people on about the editing--i think the video presents so many different skaters with so many different styles skating so many different spots in a single city splendidly...not an easy thing to do
it wasn't the smoothest of his tricks, but Nikolai Piombo's backside flip to fakie five-o (7:40) was done with so much control and stuck so squarely that i had to rewind it a few times to make sure i was seeing someone flip the board
i lived at 24th and Alabama the first time i lived in SF (right across the street from El Farolito, which i miss to this day), and Simon Bannerot's heel-flip to wallride has me stoked that heads are STILL finding new ways to skate that spot. used to start every mission at that bank-to-wall parking lot, literally a couple hundred feet from our door
Antonio Durao's cab flip is one of the most beautiful things i have ever seen done on a skateboard
i don't know how one manages to watch Gabriel Summers' battles and not love him and his skating--so much fucking heart and skill
back to it...
