Are Curren Caples, Nyjah, Louie Lopez and Chris Millic the only people to get actual new pro shoes in the past 3 years? I can't think of nor find anyone else
Three years is a lot longer than you think...
TJ Rogers, Tom Knox, John Shanahan, Ishod, Reynolds, Dilo, Kalis...
I'm sure there are more too if you take that timeframe literally...
But not nearly as many as in the past...
I was way out of element with my estimation hahaha Seems like pro shoes is a pretty big gap within my mental skate nerd database.
Based off the the lists of pro shoes people have been providing and some extra research, here's my attempt at condensing that list to people who received their first pro shoe during the current decade, as I find it particularly interesting how the amount of first-timers seems to have decreased a lot:
-Leo Baker - Nike(2023)
-Curren Caples - Vans (2025)
-Chris Millic - Last Resort (2023)
-Rowan Zorrilla - Vans (2020)
-Jon Dickson - Emerica (2020)
-TJ Rogers - éS (2025)
-John Shanahan - DC (2023)
-John Dilo - Hours is Yours (2025)
-Ishod Wair - Nike (2022)
-Tom Knox - New Balance (2023)
-Aurelien Giraud - Etnies (2023)
-Alexis Sablone - Cons (2023)
-Lizzie Armanto - Vans (2022)
-Nora Vasconcellos - Adidas (2022)
-Franky Villiani - New Balance (2023)
*colorways excluded
I'm gonna assume I got something wrong and I'm definitely also missing some shoes, but according to this list since 2020, 15 skaters have received a pro shoe for the first time
Here's a few local Mexican ones a bonus:
-Egiie Botello - Gremio (2025)
-Cristian Huerta - Casta Propaganda (2024)
-Ricardo Revuelta - Hey Dog (2020)
