Why is everyone leaving Tom Knox off lists of current pros with shoes out? He's got the nb 600.

Pretty sure he had a pro model on 88 around 2003. And a Vox shoe.

Are Curren Caples, Nyjah, Louie Lopez and Chris Millic the only people to get actual new pro shoes in the past 3 years? I can't think of nor find anyone else
[close]

Three years is a lot longer than you think...

TJ Rogers, Tom Knox, John Shanahan, Ishod, Reynolds, Dilo, Kalis...

I'm sure there are more too if you take that timeframe literally...

But not nearly as many as in the past...

I was way out of element with my estimation hahaha Seems like pro shoes is a pretty big gap within my mental skate nerd database.

Based off the the lists of pro shoes people have been providing and some extra research, here's my attempt at condensing that list to people who received their first pro shoe during the current decade, as I find it particularly interesting how the amount of first-timers seems to have decreased a lot:

-Leo Baker - Nike(2023)
-Curren Caples - Vans (2025)
-Chris Millic - Last Resort (2023)
-Rowan Zorrilla - Vans (2020)
-Jon Dickson - Emerica (2020)
-TJ Rogers - éS (2025)
-John Shanahan - DC (2023)
-John Dilo - Hours is Yours (2025)
-Ishod Wair - Nike (2022)
-Tom Knox - New Balance (2023)
-Aurelien Giraud - Etnies (2023)
-Alexis Sablone - Cons (2023)
-Lizzie Armanto - Vans (2022)
-Nora Vasconcellos - Adidas (2022)
-Franky Villiani - New Balance (2023)
*colorways excluded

I'm gonna assume I got something wrong and I'm definitely also missing some shoes, but according to this list since 2020, 15 skaters have received a pro shoe for the first time

Here's a few local Mexican ones a bonus:
-Egiie Botello - Gremio (2025)
-Cristian Huerta - Casta Propaganda (2024)
-Ricardo Revuelta - Hey Dog (2020)

How many pro model shoes have actually been succesful since the Janoski and Busenitz?

-Most of the NB models, but in particular the Tiago and Foy models i see in the wild TONS
-Tyshawn i used to see a decent amount
-Louie Cons i used to see a decent amount (but i think sale bin...)
-Etnies Joslin same situation ^ probably just massively produced due to the name alone, but didnt hit targets in certain colours
-Seen a small number people with the franky and reynolds NBs
-i own a pair of the nora's i got on a blowout, dont think i have ever seen anyone else have them

because NB doesnt have a insane legacy shoe like Vans and Nike do with the half cab and blazer, their pro models dont get cannabalized as badly. i think 440 is the closest thing to a "classic" shoe they offer and widely used across the flow network + beyond, but it doesnt hold nearly the same weight, id say its a little less. which is more in line with what Team models used to be like the Accell

When Ellington left emerica they kept his pro model but tweaked it a little and without his name. They gave suski a colorway. Wish they would’ve given suski his own shoe I would’ve bought a bunch even if the shoe was a toaster

I always wished quim cardona had a shoe on ipath but I don’t think that ever happened. Quim is an icon and it’s a real bummer he never even got a color way from my knowledge

I would see a decent amount of Dylan’s huf shoe variations in the wild around 2015-2017

Hardly any pros get a shoe these days, so the list is just gonna keep growing.
NB:
-PJ Ladd
-Westgate
-Tiago x2
-Reynolds
-Franky
-Foy

Arto had one too

I think pj had two.  Westgate definitely does

Simon and Cody had shoes that had that vague project BA wording where they designed them but they weren’t pro models
