Matt Hensley never got a pro shoe on Airwalk after innovating on the cut down low tops…that’s the biggest miss in skateboarding history.

Post career ‘pro’ shoe on Macbeth just rubs salt in the wound.

Agreed, pretty typical of Airwalk to ignore evolutions in their industry. In fairness though, signature shoes in skateboarding weren't at all common during the period that you're talking about. If memory serves, only Cab and Natas had shoes until it broke open once the Sal 23's came out in, what, 94? Airwalk had Birdman on their team the whole time and they didn't give him a shoe until a year or two later and they were totally fugly. That company dropped the ball altogether. The only model they put out that was worth a damn after Sorrys and Enigmas disappeared was the Jason Lee. Actually Ones skated alright too, but were worn mostly by chicks and ravers.

Has Julien Stranger ever had an originally designed pro shoe? Other than his Vans Syndicate era and old skool shoe colorways from over a decade ago? I fuckin loved that brown/tan era pro colorway. Vans needs to bring that shit back
