Questions for those in NYC/CT...
« on: February 01, 2009, 10:04:56 PM »
I'm coming up that way in late march.
March 28th - April 5th.
Flight's already booked.
Going to see a friend in CT, but flying into NYC.
What are some good things to do up there?
Skatespots?
Food?
Etc...

Definitley wanna meet some people from the boards for a sesh or 2 when i'm up there.
I get to see Devil semi regularly and his little dude is rad as hell. My wife and I aren't into having little ones, but that'll give me more time to be a god uncle and teach Devil's spawn to slang weed.

Dang, I heard about that.  Lil Edgar told me that he heard Mick went wee wee in one of the bumper cars, and that when the kids would bump him his car would slosh around and he'd yell something about being on the teacup ride.  Lil Edgar's a bit of a liar though.

Maybe Lil Edgar told you the same story?  He's a real chatterbox that one.  Once he told me that he snuck into Mrs. McGlasky's house through the back door.  He was going to steal some cookies or something bad like that and then she came home so he had to hide in the pantry.  He told me that he watched her wash the same dish for 3 hours straight through the pantry keyhole before he could sneak out.  Serves the bugger right.

connecticut kinda sucks, not gonna lie. some good skateparks and shit, but theres not really too much to do except go skate shitty spots and skateparks and smoke weed and walk around in the woods. while your here you should check out stamford skatepark, its about 35 minutes out of the city and its super fun.

I have a few friends in Westport, CT, so im staying there. But we'll pribally just get a hotel in NYC and enjoy it there the whole time.

yeah we try and hit up the city at least once a week. bridgeport and stamford as cities are okay skating wise, but the stamford park hasnt been open. CT is just boring in general especially down here. cant wait till im out of here.

Maybe my sense of direction is off...I wouldn't wander too far in any direction out of the williamsburg comfort zone, maybe I'm just a paranoid naive idiot but I've been confronted before by what you would consider a gang of people, a friend of mine got beat up for his shirt and another got beaten up for his skateboard. These are all seperate occasions btw...and they all took place in broad dalight. I mean, we were all 15/16 at the time, and be no means am I trying to scare people away from exploring different areas on their skateboard, but we both know its a place where if anything does go wrong anyone who is there to witness it will turn the other cheek.

so true.  brooklyn can get kind of rough and no one plays the hero out there, just about everybody looks the other way.
i got chased buy 8 dudes on bushwick ave by the gates ave station.
4 dudes on bikes, 4 dudes on pegs with baseball bats talking about, you gotta a dollar!  give me a dollar!  i couldn't hear them at first because i was on my board, then i turned aruond and they were closing in on me.
i hauled ass!  i never skated so fast in my entire life!
