A few years ago I discovered one of god's wonderful creations, craigslist, and the many wonderful ways to hustle locally via the convenience of myown home. Over the years, I've picked up tvs and things that people were giving away for free and turned around and posted them right back on clist. I once made in a few days time upwards of $800 just from 2 tvs. It was stupid and I've done similar things since I found the site, but yeah, it's incredible some of the stuff you can find on there. I really need a new board so I typed in skateboard yesterday and now I just got back from pickin up a mint cond. jayme fortune santa cruz complete with some nice sector nine cruiser wheels for $20 and I'm gonna meet up with another guy on Sunday, he's got a brand new natty Kon complete with indy and swiss reds and I'm coppin that ish for a dub too!!!! Two basically brand new completes for $40. Anybody else feelin the awesomeness of craigslist?

Fuck yeah, I've made a few bucks on the side with some of the gigs (under "computer"). A few hundred bucks here and there for what amounts to be a 4 or 5 hour website or a logo. I love that shit because it gives me a chance to experiment on random projects (whereas everything at work is pretty standardized). Edited to add: not just gigs in Louisiana, either. There are a lot of online gigs that don't require that you live in whatever state, you just have to make sure you get paid.

Bought plenty of shit off of it, but my favorite was when my wife asked me to sell a Chevy Cavalier that she had acquired from an estate. I'd never sold a damned thing in my life, so I made a really tight non-negotiable-priced ad with a ton of photos pointing out every single ding, scuff and crack on it. I wound up getting two dozen legit responses within two hours of posting it, and a ton more that night. We wound up selling it the next day to the first dude that responded. I felt the power of being a master car salesman. ALWAYS BE CLOSING

i found someone wanting to buy "used skate shoes" , i might sell mine 'cause i've got a few pairs i haven't thrown out...i suspect he's going to jerk off into them though and don't know if i can deal with that. i'd also prefer it if i could avoid meeting the dude and possibly being trapped in his basement or wherever else it is he does all his perverted activity.

craigslist and ebay are pretty much my source of income. i buy n64, nes, playstation, etc games and consoles for pretty cheap, then turn around and resale on ebay for profit. just gotta know what youre looking for. yard sales/thrift stores are good for that kinda shit too.

no way, the same thing happened to me too. some dude buying used skate shoes, he came to my house and bought the crappiest most skated shoes i had for 5 bucks each. it was so weird

I've bought 2 cars and an antique mission couch on craigslist and sold a bunch of shit.

One of the things I sold was a high-end mountain bike. I had it priced at what it was worth so no one called for like 2 weeks. Then all the sudden I get a call from some raspy voiced dude named Ice. He wanted to know if it had clickers on it which with further explanation I understood to be gears.

I told him the price was firm, cash only to try and scare him off. He said cool but told me we had to meet somewhere the bus went 'cause he couldn't drive, and suggested the dirtiest dive bar in town.

I was sure the dude would ask for a test ride and then bolt but greed had a grip on me so I went. I called a friend and told him to wear his running shoes. I put a lock on the front wheel and put a two foot metal pipe in the back of my truck just in case.

So I get there and go look for him in the bar and the dude looks just like Dog the Bounty Hunter. Total meth head. And of course he wants to take the bike for a ride. Luckily the bike had clipless pedals and hommie had cowboy boots on so his feet kept slipping off. I also put the bike in the highest gear so his legs were flying around but he wasn't going anywhere.

I was ready for the chase/beat down but after a couple minutes he comes back and rips off a stack of hundred dollar bills.

The only thing I regret is not stopping by Wal Mart on my way over and picking up a $100 bike to sell him.

weird, i sent a guy an email because he was lookin for used skate shoes, offering 20 bucks a pair! hasn't emailed me back yet though.

that's the only possible problem with CL, but as long as you use common sense you'll be alright.

my friend had some shit luck with a cl situation, he sold some dude his old laptop for 1000 cash. they met in a public place everything went over smooth. the dude had some one tale my friend as he was walking home home and when they got to a more secluded area my friend gets jumped by the guy who was following him and the guy that he sold the laptop to, so this dude made out with a laptop for free.
