Being stupid makes you dumber.

I opened one of the Ba Narwhals I picked up and I actually loved it. Lots of coconut flavoring and very mellow. Is it worth $17.99 though? No.

Just picked up Duclaws Retribution. Now that is one hell of a bourbon barrel aged stout. It seriously is a must try. $10 for a 22 oz. Also has anyone on here had Thirsty Dogs Wulver? Opinions on it?

The only stand outs were the smog city, the grapefruit sculpin that I brought. Some stuff from dust bowl and knee deep was in there just nothing I can remember. It's pretty fun since everyone contributes a selection and not everyone is in to beer. Modelo was in the mix along with reds apple ale. But the reactions of the non beer people to some of the hoppier or like a strong Belgian is pretty hilarious. One chick said the gf sculpin tasted like mop water.

Took the Cert. Cicerone test Wednesday and celebrated by popping a 2013 Black Tuesday, 2014 Black Tuesday (speaking of barrel aged imperial stouts...), and Roble Blanco.

This weekend got to sample some decent brews:

Avery 21 (Anniversary Ale)
They claim it's an American Brown Ale - but it tastes more like a black IPA. Pretty good, def. worth a try if you're feeling something along those lines. Avery is climbing the ranks for me - every time I try their stuff, it never disappoints. You guys were right about TWEAK - that's the new hotness beer geeks are talking about everywhere. I think it comes out this weekend or so.

Almanac Golden Gate Gose
Salty and Sour - really nice. Reminded me of white wine in a weird way.

Lagunitas Brown Shugga'
Great Holiday brew - almost 10% and incredible deceiving for what it is. I guess they tried making Barley Wine and ended up with this. Got hammered off of these.

Victory Earth And Flame (Bourbon Barrel Aged Scotch Ale)
My friend got this - gave me a sip. WAY better than Backwoods Bastard - my 2 cents...

Hahaha just kidding of course, but you have me intrigued now. I hope I can find a bottle of it. I was able to order some Wulver online which I heard competes with Backwoods. For anyone who likes backwoods on here another beer to try is Big Muddys Backwoods Monster. Not as good as backwoods, but damn close.

Smog City is doing some great stuff.  stoked they are finally bottling.  hoping they bottle some of their IPAs soon.  went to their anniversary party a year ago and was blown away.  barrel aged OE is also incredible.

speaking of grapefruit sculpin, i was in SD for a few days and hit a few of the newer breweries I hadn't been to yet.  Societe is doing some amazing IPAs.  Modern Times has the coolest tasting room of any brewery.  also checked out the new Ballast Point tasting room / brewery in Little Italy.  was impressed.  really good food and huge list of stuff on tap.  all their regular offerings, specialties, and experimental beers.  they also have pretty much every beer they make ready for takeaway.  got 3 six packs of gf sculpin (which is hard to find in LA)

it's a must stop if you down that way. (then check out bottle works down the street)

So my friend is the manager at the local shop I buy my booze from, and when I went in to make my usual purchases he told me to follow him into the back. When I walked back there and saw his allocated section my jaw fucking dropped. He has basically all of Firestones heavy hitters from every year, Some KBSs and other Founders rarities, BCBSs, and a bunch of other shit. I immediately asked him why he has those and his response was "They never sold, because I don't put allocated stuff on the shelf.". I then said why didn't you sell them to me? He then goes "You never asked". So basically because no one ever asked including myself hes sitting on boozey gold. Next week when I get my Christmas bonus im going to town. Also any Brooklyn pals know of any good bottle shops in  the Bay Ridge area? Heading there on Saturday and wanted to get some goods I cant get in Jersey.

Nope.  Tracer is all the frutiness skateboarding needs.
And 3% shouldn't even be condsidered beer.
I prefer 7.5% or above, and 80 IBU or more.
Needless to say, I am an IPA man!

Anyone in New York should go to 86 Bagel and Deli on 86th St and 3rd ave in Bay Ridge. They are selling 4pks of the BCBS and they have a lot. They also still have Founders Sweet Repute. Bought a bunch of Bells stuff there, and of course BCBS stout and barleywine 4pks. Was surprised I could not find any Evil Twin or Thirsty Dog stuff. Went to 3 different places.

Any Vermont pals have any suggestions of good places to get beer in Stowe? I'm going to Vermont for 10days this Saturday and googled it and found the Alpine Mart. I'm trying to get some Heady topper, focal banger, and other various brands. Any suggestions? Pancake man aren't you from VT?

I'm in MA, but you're not too far off from Waterbury VT, which has Prohibition Pig and Reservoir. Right around the corner from Pro Pig is a nice little bottle shop as well. You're also an hour out from Hill Farmstead in Greensboro. You can also check out Three Penny in Montpelier as well. And you're probably about 45 minutes from Burlington, you picked a pretty central location my friend

You're in VT - get some switchback on tap, and bring a bottle or two home.

You should def. go check out Burlington - They have Vermont Pub and Brewery, and a couple of other new places since I went to school there
 http://www.vermontbrewery.com/

Magic Hat Brewery is in South Burlington too
