edit: also, meant to tell you, ableton is having a free trial on their website.  you can download the full version for 30 days to see if you like it.  also, you can play keys and drums in ableton using your computer keyboard, so no need to buy a midi controller unless you want to.

as far as trip-hop "instrumental" or whatever, you can't go wrong with Wagon Christ. Most everything Luke Vibert makes is really good.

beat comes in :26, and buy Tally Ho! you won't be disappointed.

look at labels like Mo'Wax or Ninja Tune too.

there was this cool song i kept hearing from them that my friend was playing. he said they were hanging out with this girl at an alll nighter ecstacy party in toronto and she just kept talking about dubstep, and she dropped like 5000 hints that she wanted to get triple-teamed. i was saying i totally would have been down my friends are a bunch of prudes.
