They've always been fucking shit. Kids in my town used to keep a score card of who had beat who and how many times. And that was six years ago.

One thing I gotta say is Kalis has always done his own thing.  Watch "Heavy Metal", that was 15+ years ago and he still skated the same way with the same style.  Too many pros out there trying to change up their style to fit in with the latest trends.

it's like a mini-game in the much larger world of skateboarding

what surprises me is how much younger kids care about skating flatground now

they can do nollie heelflips before they can skate at a decent speed or ollie up shit

that is a bummer!

I think I skated for a couple of years before even thinking of trying to do flatground tricks, haha...was just psyched about being able to MOVE and RIDE

that said I love watching talented skaters do tricks on flat and I won't lie...I definitely am skating flat a lot more than I used to because I've found the joy in it

I'm with DGKalis here. I think the new trend is pretty wack. guys are starting to look like freshmen at Princeton -  boat shoes and ruffled, but well-kept hair. fuck nike for bringing this on us. I hope it's just a phase.

Seriously I only see people 20+ wearing that button downs to skate in, and still it's more of a corny slap type thing. Most people i see wear jeans and a t shirt, or lately some chinos and a t shirt.
