its funny how chaz ortiz is considered one of the best skaters, I laughed when I was watching dew tour one day and lutzka, sheckler, P-rod and ortiz stepped up and the commentator said, this is like the dream team of skateboarding, some ppl are just stupid.

I heard he was going to do it at one stop, is there an article that says they are doing it for every city?

I think it airs September 15th.  I hope they show all the skaters and not just finals.

does anyone have any footage? i just don't get why every obstacle is set up so shitty and how you're supposed to do lines. it almost seems like it's designed so you can't hit more than one thing at a time. you jump down the stairs, then you run into some other stairs. you skate the bump gap, then you run into nothing. you give the flatbar section a try, then you run into nothingness again. this course design seems fucking horrible. what happened to the original set-up they were showing them practice on? (the one with a big 12 or something.)

it'd be cool if there was a bigger transition aspect to it, that way the transition-biased guys had stuff to get a good score while Nyjah struggles, and then on the 12 stair rail Nyjah can get his. That way a broader range of skaters would show up, and it would be a little bit more fair.

Imagine if they took all the money they put into this, and built more skateparks around the USA for kids in areas that don't have it so good.  Then did like 1 opening day demo there with the dudes who signed up for "Street League".

Nah, that wouldn't be profitable.

No, it wouldn't, but quit bitching. It's always easier to talk shit about people, but you wouldn't do that shit if you got rich. Dyrdek does give back to the community so it's whatever. Honestly, bitching about this is like saying we're wasting money on NASA or any other scientific research when we could be using that money to fight hunger. It never ends...

I was there all weekend, watched the 5 hours of qualifying, (with quite a few hiccups), and the actual contest.  I have to say, this contest/format was pretty good.  The scoring was shit.  I saw some of the gnarliest shit ever get thrown down only to see it get scored a 5.1 out of 10.  The highest score for the weekend was a 7.5 and it was down the big rail, and before that the highest was a 6.9.  How can you really score a trick on a flat bar or flat ledge on the same level as a 12 stair hand rail/hubba?  How gnarly can you really get on that flat bar compared to a giant 12 stair?  And what would you have to do to get a 10 on a flat bar, or is it even possible to do something crazy enough on a flat bar to score a 10?
I could go on and on about the wacky scoring, but overall, it was a really good contest, much more fun to watch with one dude going at a time as opposed to a mish mash of carnage all going down at once...

And Nyjah fucking ripped, he just needs to skate faster.  But other than that he deserved the win for sure...
Get litty.....
