Dear Lakai, ditch the xlk construction, it's too soft and people actually want a cupsole that supports their arches and that doesn't get soggy in 2 days. The og Lakai cupsoles were the best, telford, soca, machester etc.

After a few sessions in the Manchester XLK, my feet and knees were killing me. I switched back to my Sheffields and felt I had more support and stability in them and they are stretched out, floppy, thin vulcs. Another shitty pair of shoes I wasted money on.

I have a pair of XLK Guy Mariano's from several years ago I just took out and they somehow have worse padding than regular vans. My feet hurt from bailing on flat. Is that how XLK is now?
I was stoked because they're so flexible but I'd honestly feet better in a pair of Authentics.

I'm actually skating some really old lakais, Cairo XLK, really liking the soles although I changed the insoles for FP. But they must have changed a lot since end of 2000's.

Those Guy Mariano XLK shoes were trash. Not only did they hurt but the soles wore bald after a couple weeks.

Was really excited to skate my Manchester XLKs, after 20 mins of skating in em my heel and knees started hurting so bad I couldn’t skate at all. They have 0 support, was super disappointed

It must be selling well enough for them to keep churning out new colorways every season. Choosing to release the spartan is beyond me, though.

Didn't think there would still be a market for 100+ usd synthetic shoes with bad durability. éS is being really on point with the early 2000s renaissance!

They're not doing zoom either, it's a newer foam insole.
Some would say not as good, but I didn't mind them in my one stars I had.
Closer to lunarlon than the zoom insoles, but definitely a different feel.

I have a pair of exactly what you’re describing! Grabbed them in college from Fairman’s on their clearance rack for half-price (like $35) 😎 I typically skate with a pair of Footprint kingfoam orthotics, but certain shoes I’ll leave the stock insoles in and those chucks are one of them. The original Nike SB Koston’s had a similar insole, maybe even the same one... now that’s a shoe I’d like to see come back.
