I have a pair. They are wider than they look as they "curve" a lot to make room for your forefoot, or at least, more so than something like a SB Bruin React or Ishod which are more straight/not foot-shaped at all.

Just out of curiousity @EmericaTM what is the benefit of doing a collab with someone like Independent, who isn’t necessarily pulling new eyes in?   Do those collabs sell significantly better?   Is it making a sponsor of Dickson’s happy?   Not bashing it, genuinely curious about the business of it all

There's a few reasons but primarily the majority of the riders skate for Independent. Besides that, there's no denying that they're the most well known truck company let alone skate brands globally. From being in every skate shop to even just having 2-10x more followers on social than any other, it should bring in new eyes to the brand. Regarding sales, yes those collabs tend to sell well as you've got another brand pushing the products, a full footwear and apparel collection, and a solid amount of riders marketing and promoting it.

Id probably get it for motorcycling, cause even moto brands haven't considered Chelsea boot design for riding.

We actually have a collab with Biltwell dropping in a year and there there is a Romero Laced High (sorry no Chelsea boot) in the collection.

The Indy Gamma, Hoban Slip Cup and Romero Boot are all calling my name. Really solid catalog all around.

Both. Years ago I’d try other shoes, and would always end up hating them, and would go back to blazers (I’m one who likes the tongue straps, and doesn’t cut them). I think Adidas makes more models that look better than Nike, but their tongues always slip to the side on my foot. I can’t stand that. Not sure if Nora’s shoe has them, but I’d still buy that color just based on looks. That Puig indoor shoe looks good too, but I saw that the tongue moves over to the side in Lucas’ Santa Monica footy.

Same, on all accounts. I wish more skate shoes came with straps. Easier to cut than install. Busenitz Vulc 2 comes with the straps. I was thinking about those after my Gazelles but just grabbed some Blazer mids for winter.

I'll have to try a pair of those Busenitz!

EDIT (I was wrong about where it was posted): The Humidity account posted the bottom of the sole a couple days ago. It's some type of winter/hiking looking thing, and not just the standard vulc wrapped lug sole like they use on the Sk8 Hi MTE (the one that looks the most like a regular sneaker). I just went to the Vans site to try and match the sole unit, and the tread pattern matches the one from the 'Sentry Old Skool.'

Part of me wishes it was a skate shoe, but it's kind of cool that they did something different. And I live where there's snow, so I wouldn't mind having winterized Half Cabs as an option.

That Old Skool looks terrible, but I could see that sole looking okay in all black on a Half Cab. The proportions are wrong on the Old Skool (collar is too low for a chunky sole), and the white lug sole looks gimmicky. I'd love a cupsole Half Cab too, but this might at least be a cool non-skate shoe for winter. If it looks good and isn't a pain to get ahold of, I'm considering getting a pair. Humidity won't ship to Canada, so it's off the table for me if it's only available from them, though.

Wish they didn't say GORE-TEX in 148 point font. They actually look okay to me other than that. Vans has been marketing the winterized/MTE sneaker-boots hard for a few years now (at least in Canada), and this is one of the better looking models. Take that for what it's worth, though - most of them are pretty gross.
