You think the new muskas look good until you compare them to the originals. They looks so cheap and lifeless. IMO they missed the most important factor of the og muska which was how ill the shape was; Pointy and nimble with a nice, smooth, sloped profile. the reissue was probably built on the quatro last which is one of the worst shapes in footwear history. The accent is a hair too small, too far down, and also doesn't have the rounded profile. Outsole color blocking is wrong. Unnecessary generic lace toggle (why?) they just look wrong.. they have a similar look to the D3 reissue.

That being said, ill probably still purchase, but they will bother me the entire time I wear them. I do give them points for making the midsole P.U. unlike that lazy sh*t they did with the MJ.

For the record, I was born in 1994 and have never skated a pair of muskas, nor have I seen an original pair in person. This hate is not based on rose colored nostalgia, just annoyed that they can't do anything right.

I don't think the allure of the es Muska is coming from its looks.

the appeal comes from nostalgia, and they have to really nail it for people to be happy. I don't think eS has ever nailed a remade shoe, they're always wonky and off. Meanwhile DC (at the same price point) makes their stuff better than before.

Only because the Sabotage crew insisted they do the Lynx right by breaking out calipers and other tools to break it down measurement-wise.

Honestly, don’t see what the issue with the Muskas are.   They look pretty spot on, but I don’t really remember it being a great skate shoe, just a cool shoe the most popular skater wore.

If you're going to spend thousands in R+D, making a mold, pre-producing, and getting muska to put his name on it again, why would you not do it right? Like I get the whole calipers and tools seems overboard, but if your entire product is shoes,  is it really too much? It's pretty obvious that they cut corners on production. That's why the outsole doesn't match, because it's easier and cheaper to just do all black. I mean look at their reissues all together. They're just lazy and cashing in on a retro skate fashion trend. I've held all of these in person and they are just put to shame by DC.

I don’t complain at the muska reissue. It looks 90 percent better than most shoes out in the market. Idgaf about boardfeel. All i care for is the protection of my feet when i skate

Am I crazy?  I really don’t see any significant difference between the two.   Let alone to get this worked up over.  The Koston has a completely different sole, yes, but the Muska and the MJ look as close to identical as I can see

Excited about the Muskas. Hopefully they release the olive/tan colorway later on. Had that as a teenager and I fucking loved those shoes.

Creagers. They look more promising than the muska, but holy sh*t the logo execution (which is arguably the most iconic part of the design) is f*cking awful. The logo should be scaled up about 10%, centered in the window, the embroidery should be about 2mm bolder, and it should be rotated counter clockwise about 20 degrees. The way the logo was cropped by the paneling is what made the branding so tasteful. Why is this so difficult?! @emericaTM let them know! There's still time!

I don't know dude. I think you're being too picky. The Creager, Muska, and MJ reissues all look fine to me. But then again I was never really into any of those shoes and don't want any of the new ones. But if they did as bad of a job on that Koston reissue as you think they're doing on these ones then I'd be pretty happy about it.

They look great and true to what the originals all look like. They definitely fumbled on that Koston shoe but seemed to taken the criticism and made it right with these ones.

I'm off the nostalgia trip for early 2000s shoes, just leave them behind. People are just being too nitpicky.

I can see what we're saying on those little details, but the Creagers and Muskas look 100 times closer to the original than the Kostons did. Unfortunately, the original Koston is 100 times nicer as a design than either of those. So they're offering us the choice a good design with terrible execution or not-great designs with at least decent execution. I'm guessing most people, given those options, will continue to choose just not buying any eS shoes at all. Though I am hoping these sell like crazy, perhaps prompting them to consider a proper do-over on the Kostons.

Ehhh the Creager is up there as iconic.    Everyone on the team wore the Koston and the Creagers.   The only non-Muska Muska wearer I can really recall is Koston Miami line in Chocolate tour

Dumb question maybe . But is it even truly possible to make these shoes like 1:1 anymore . Like far as I can tell the only different on the creager is maybe some panels are little larger in spots? That feels like just something you can’t get around due to changes in technology over the last 20 years. I wouldn’t buy em but if you like that shoe that seems like a great remake. Same with the mjs. I’m glad people are getting their grails remade though. I’m still over here dming Kelly and don brown biweekly for square ones .

No way. I love the Arto pro model. I think he had a 2nd shoe but never came out. I think his first colorway was all black with red air bubble.

Not sure if it has been asked but are the pros / ex-pros getting money from these rerelease? That is pretty rad if so.

Maybe the skaters altered the designs slightly too as they thought they could
Be better than the first time.
It’s probably tough having your design changed and if given the opportunity to do it again maybe you ask for it to be the way you wanted originally.
I realize we’re all just spitballing here but it’s a perspective to consider.
