It is but they have to be terrible at negotiating some where in their supply chain, if those instagram reels where they ask factory reps how much stuff is per piece per minimum are to be believed. I mean even it isn’t , new balance is making sneakers in the USA for that price point.

Is there some reason that I am unaware of that makes these shoes impossible to make in any other color than white? The few non-white colorways that have come out look so good. Even if it was just an off white instead of a neon stark white that would be great.

Weird choice since the AS-1s are already close to a low top Fastbreak, but hey I guess people are stoked on them and that's all that matters. I can definitely see a lot of people wearing these since Fastbreaks are a well loved shoe already.

AS-1's are so uncomfortable underfoot, like I couldn't wear that shoe for more than a couple hours maybe. If they were smart they would have re-tooled the AS-1 by now and just switched to the fastbreak outsole, instead they're just throwing a low model out of the fastbreak.

the fastbreaks flick and feel are good overall. my only complaint is that the outsole is slick. even felt slick on brand new mob. i have a set i dont skate and i slipped walking lol

Damn really?  Bummer to hear.  I’m hesitant to give up the grippiness of vulcs but was hoping Fastbreaks might be a good intro to cupsoles.

Felt fine for me with Pepper grip from what I remember. Became slick once the toe started to bust. Honestly surprised me how well they worked out right away but I had broken ‘em in walking in them for a bit

I firmely believe that the best intro to cupsoles are 440 or 508. Then you discover the enjoy of being painless and you end up with 1010 or 808
