You would think the giant CONS logo on the tongue, the description on basically every website, and the fact they don't make a non-skate Fastbreak would be pretty much a dead giveaway that it's a skate shoe.

I went back through 4 seasons of skate pdf’s and haven’t seen it yet, but that doesn’t mean anything.
I assumed it was a mainline lifestyle shoe without clicking the link but apparently it isn’t since it says skateboarding. I’m offered all the limited drops from converse too and no sign of it there. Again, maybe it’s a
Mainstream play that’s skate but not in the actual skate shop line. My apologies shoe squad. I emailed my rep to get the scoop.

Converse does make non-skate Fastbreaks. Most of the Fastbreaks we saw on Cons skaters were of the regular versions before they started making Cons versions in the last 5 or so years.

The non-skate versions are probably on hold for now. Last time I saw a non-skate Fastbreak in person was at a Cons outlet 4 years ago

the fastbreaks flick and feel are good overall. my only complaint is that the outsole is slick. even felt slick on brand new mob. i have a set i dont skate and i slipped walking lol

Damn really?  Bummer to hear.  I’m hesitant to give up the grippiness of vulcs but was hoping Fastbreaks might be a good intro to cupsoles.

I firmely believe that the best intro to cupsoles are 440 or 508. Then you discover the enjoy of being painless and you end up with 1010 or 808

Or you end up in the KSL, Marana/Joslin camp, which are equally great cupsoles alongside the 1010 and 808.

If I had to recommend intro cupsoles, 440s are near the top for sure

Also can’t recommend the figgy g6’s enough, really great shoe if you’re looking for a low profile shoe with a great midsole.

Aren’t those done with them discontinuing all the g6 sole shoes.

Yeah from what I’ve seen on here, but I’m still holding out hope that we get a few more colorways throughout this year before it’s completely done. In the meantime though I definitely recommend grabbing a pair or two before they gone

Remember: we heard they were going to discontinue/phase out G6. We didn't hear that they already stopped producing G6 cupsoles. That doesn't mean shoes with G6 construction weren't or aren't in production that will release later this year. Example: 1-2 more Figgy G6 colors, maybe one last KSL, Slip Cup collab, etc.

Our rep told us in an email about the Fastbreak Low for SP24 but they weren't actually in the PDF. I asked for photos but he didn't have any. So I don't know if this solves anything ahaha.

I think the DC constructs are sick and cooler than shanahans shoe and that metric shoe they were pushing.

my brain kept reading John’s last name as hahaha in this post.

Seeing the construct shoe made me feel pretty over the clunky/tech renaissance.

I’m just not happy with most shoes nowadays. The last pair of shoes I enjoyed skating in were Vans Skate Hi’s that were just standard classics. Gum sole and black with black stripe canvas upper. They just broke in perfectly and I skated them forever as I was rotating them with another pair of Skate Hi’s. I think I often conflate a good pair of shoes and a good set up with just simply being in good skating form so who knows.

After years of watching Tom Knox in them, I finally got a pair of 440’s in the fall and was not really in love with them. They may have been a bit big. Like 1/4 size too big. If a pair of 9 3/4’s were made, I think I would have enjoyed them more, but I wasn’t too impressed with them. Thin cupsoles just never catch my board as well as something vulcanized to ever feel absolutely comfortable and in control while ollieing.

I bought the Rowan 2’s on impulse after wanting the first Rowan’s for so long. They are okay. I think if I was skateboarding regularly I’d enjoy them more.

Shanahan Metric was one of the worst looking DCs I've seen in awhile. Regular Metrics are cool.
Shanahan's shoe looks fucking sick. They've also done some solid colorways for it so far, too. Get that man paid!

Has anyone skated the new CONS model- Academy One Star Pro? They seem just like race car one stars with little stripes on the side to add flair. Is they're any new cushion or tech added to the shoe or just some lines in the suede. [DUMB][DUMB][/DUMB]
