The accel fit is stupid cause those heel lock systems are so hit or miss ( original adidas- good. Tiago- bad , heel slip nightmare) butttt it warms my heart to see es doing some weird tech shit that will last 2 seasons and never be seen again like the accelerates and scales of my youth.

Mute don’t look too bad, should be a mid but I’ve been saying soletech needs to lean into that og designs and it looks like they’re actually trying at least. Might not be executed perfectly but they are at least giving it a solid effort lately

That's basically my point. The og mute was a very good show back in the day and something that a lot of people would actually probably want now so why just make something that looks like a thinner accell and call it the mute when it's not the same thing at all.

As far as the other shoes pictured they are just the same bargain table shit people have been ignoring for 20 years. They look like the shoes tribal tatt, shin length boardshorts, jetski enthusiast, RC cars at the skatepark guys have been wearing since 2002.

I’ve seen comments about the “egg crate midsole” in the Marc Johnson reissue, but still don’t really understand what it is. Does anyone have pictures of what this looks like? I feel dumb for asking but can’t find anything.

Damn, the Mute is the first Emerica shoe in a while that I in to. I even like the colors they chose.

I just hope they can keep the price reasonable. Like accels are $85 these days, and which is pushing it.

Is the 30+ crowd really buying all these reissues. Cowtown is one of my locals and they claim that generally these types of shoes do not sell well and most consumers that weren't around for those eras just don't care even if they've seen the videos.

my opinion? they're buying the reissues more than they were buying any other of those godawful shoes soletech/dc was putting out. cowtown is in AZ, no? who's gonna wanna wear a heavy ass brick in those temps. they're pricey too, so the amount of people who wanna buy them are pretty limited. generally, when they're overdone, they don't sell. a hundred colorways of the same shoe? won't sell. well-done and limited releases? they're actually doing alright. especially with those kids who want to be as 1/1 to the 90s/00s as possible. some guys I know are really interested in old DC, eS and etnies. just like the feeling they get from those shoes, feel they last a lot longer because they're so thick.

They're in AZ but one of the bigger online retailers. AZ actually has a massive amount of skaters as they've been countless parks here and weather is at least dry all year.  Kids don't give a shit about breathability they mostly care about aesthetics and maybe performance.
