I have on my cruiser board, no problems they are very thin, grippy ( the sole looks smooth,but it has ridges much like fingerprints). But not durable, that said mine were the canvas upper non skate ones.

friend of mine had a pair of CVOs or something (one of those converse black flag shoes with same grip) and he said it didnt last for shit.

How wide are Venture 5,25? Are they 8 inch or bigger? And also, which Theeve are 8,25, the 5,25 or 5,5, I cant find it anywhere, Im thinking about buying new trucks, and I dont want 8,5 inch trucks, and my current Thunders 147 are a little small, I stepped up my board size.

check out the fury evo2. i know fury sucked in the past, but they came out with a legit truck on this one. they come in 7.75, 8,8.25,and 8.5.
i switched from riding indys for 7 years to furys. i'm a really picky guy when it comes to skatestuff and wouldn't have done it if it wasn't a decent truck.

I had a friend that skated them and swore by the out sole. It is designed to grip against wet docks so if it could grip on wet surfaces then I think they'll do just as good on grip tape, if not better than most shoes.

I just broke another kingpin on my indys this week but I refuse to get thunders as a replacement but I was thinking of trying theeve trucks. i typically break about 1-2 kingpins a year and I'm the type to stick to a truck until there dead. I wanted to know if theeve are all around titanium, not just the axle or hanger, is the kingpin and base plate titanium too?

I'm 6'4" 205lb and today i got a real deck that i loved for about 20min till it broke.  Between p2, fiberprime, double impact, etc, which is the strongest.  The last and only other time i purchased a "technology" deck was 2 years ago, it was a foundation with that weird weaved material and i didn't notice any difference in strength.

Bottom off, top on is what bones says you should do. But really you could do whatever.

Anybody get annoyed when the holes in baseplates grow wider and get deformed? it makes your mounting bolts get looser faster and makes your setup turn oneway if you recently landed primo.
I ride loose trucks so it ain't a problem, but i can imagine those odd tight truck skaters might get new trucks cause of the fact.

on the site it says the the TiKing http://www.theevetrucks.com/prod/prod_tiking-trucks.html  you can also just buy that titanium kingpins them selves and put em into what ever truck

i skated a pair of theeves his..i was riding 147 thunder hi's and after a week a i had to switch back..the trucks grinded well just the king pin was so low for how i ride my trucks and the bushings would just bulge out cause the king pin is set low..i just might really be used to thunders

Recently I've been skating dekline shoes and bought a few shoes in bulk for cheap(I tend to do this whenever I am hyped on a company and end up changing) Once I'm finished with this batch of shoes I plan on trying out another shoe company. I would be glad to hear some input on some other shoe companies. I'm really into Vulc shoes and haven't tried cup sole in a while. What are some good shoes? I'm down with cup sole if they have a similar feel to vulc shoes. Thanks!!

Blanking on the correct way to measure board length.

Do you run the measuring tape straight over or do you make it conform to the board by pushing it onto the concave?

I asked this on the previous page and all I got was kooked.

Out of the two shops I use one of them measures straight across and the other shop measures into the concave.

Also the length of a Chocolate board I skated which was listed on their site was the length measuring straight across while
a Krooked I had was the length pressing into the board on their site.

I think for length you press in, for width you don't

I have these shoes and I really want to color the white leather black.
It's soft leather if that matters.
What I want to know is would a sharpie do the job?
Cause when I skate them I don't want the sharpie to rub off.

have several pairs of them, and have never tried it, but it doesn't seem like a good idea. the sole has those rubber nubs sticking out that are common on athletic shoes, and the heel is significantly higher. ankle rolls for days IMO, and the heel collar is not very padded, so there'd be some nice blistering on your achilles. Still, if you want to try skating air maxes, they'd probably be a better model than the air max 90's.

if you're looking for a "non-skate" skate shoe, try the puma clydes or adidas superstar II's (heavily recommend the latter)


why is it so hard to find phillips hardware? what happened to that bolt company universal hardware? is there some conspiracy to always make allen heads so they round out fast and require your to buy more after 3-4 board changes? am I the only person with this problem of unscrewable bolts and rounded out skate tools?

Tried skating them the other day, felt just how i imagined... quite nice but nothing on a real skate shoe. just skating them for fun as i saw them in my room and havnt wore em in ages so may aswell thrash em. holding up much better than i expected

I do this, too. Usually I'll buy like 3-4 pairs, not only is it cheaper but then I don't have to get use to a different shoe. I had some Deklines and they were good, right now I'm skating Es Edgars. Sounds like you might like them. Kind of have that thicker sole like most Deklines, but they're not heavy and you can still feel your board. Plus a really strong toe cap.

Thanks for the input. I remember looking at the ripped laces review of the Edgar and everything seems great. I wonder how long will the shoe be out though, because of eS struggle right now. On the other hand maybe I can get the shoe for a steal and buy a few pairs.. Do you suggest any other shoes that fit that description?
