Has anyone here skated in airmax 1's?

if so, whats it like?
[close]
have several pairs of them, and have never tried it, but it doesn't seem like a good idea. the sole has those rubber nubs sticking out that are common on athletic shoes, and the heel is significantly higher. ankle rolls for days IMO, and the heel collar is not very padded, so there'd be some nice blistering on your achilles. Still, if you want to try skating air maxes, they'd probably be a better model than the air max 90's.

if you're looking for a "non-skate" skate shoe, try the puma clydes or adidas superstar II's (heavily recommend the latter)

why is it so hard to find phillips hardware? what happened to that bolt company universal hardware? is there some conspiracy to always make allen heads so they round out fast and require your to buy more after 3-4 board changes? am I the only person with this problem of unscrewable bolts and rounded out skate tools?

i bought a set of phillips hardware the other day and to my surprise my tool didnt fit. the tool was like to fat for the holes. im sticking to shortys from now on

sewing needles have always worked for me. wedge it very carefully on the inside ring of the bearing and pop out.

or get bearings with rubber shields (i think reds have them, mini-logos have always worked fine for me). you can pop those off easily with a boxcutter.

I know this is the epitome of the stupid obsessive question, but here it goes.

set up an anti hero board last night. skated 30 minutes of flatground. just goofed around.

four full pressure cracks appeared. I know they're inherent in any type of skating. but after a half hour of flatground? really?

has this happened to anyone so quickly? Is this too short of a time for that to have occured?

I used to worry about it too, but it happens. I had it really bad on a deathwish board once. huge pressure cracks the day I got it. broke in 3 days skating flatground and little stuff.

Bones bushings on independents, leave which washer off and why?
[close]
i leave both in with the nut flush to the top of the kingpin

[close]

Are you using the bones mediums? Wouldn't your trucks be too loose? I'm thinking about having it flush cause the last set of trucks the bolt got threaded, truck was fucked. If it was flush it wouldn't of been a problem, but they'd be too lose. Maybe I need to buy the hard bushings? The thing is I don't have my trucks tight at all, but not super loose.

Yup, mediums. Not that loose in my opinion. and honestly its like a quarter to a half turn past flush on the back truck

Just curious but what is the pros fro pulling out the shield on bearings?

That's something  I'm actually mindful of. powerdrill at my shop was dead so I did it manually. not cranked up very hard at all. bolts are even sticking out a little on my griptape. have you ever noticed this to happen so quickly?

I don't know what size you are...but the all black busenitz pro is on sale at CCS for 49.99. I think they have sizes up to 8 and 11-13. I might have to cop another pair of busenitz just cause they're hard to find for under $60.

How're think boards? Shape, wood, pop durability etc etc. Should I go for pro models or do the tag ones work just as good? I know some companies press pro and team boards different, i.e. blueprint

I'm think of grabbing some es before they get hard to find as I've never actually owned a pair before (yeah yeah shoot me). How are the Square Two Fusions? These are the only colourway I can find atm that I can get.

The pair I had, although not that colour way, the line was just stitched on.  Razor should be fine.  You'll still have remnants of orange thread, but whatever.

I've never skated the fusion version - though I do have them in my closet; However, the regular square two is godly. Perfectly pointy toe, big one-piece toecap, pushed-back laces so they take forever to rip. IMO, it's pretty much a perfect shoe as long as you don't have to jump down any giant gaps.

Get them.
