when i was younger we would catch a cheap flight from buenos aires to Sao paulo or Rio.    i was always shocked how shitty the majority of the brazilian's spots were yet they ripped so hard with such good style.   it's funny that when a good brazilian comes out he gets labeled as a 'brazilian robot' but when in reality he has been skating the shittiest spots for a long time.   when a dude from the east blows up he is 'raw'.

Think about it this way: SF and Portland are rad, LA and San Diego are the shittiest cities in North America
New York and Philly are rad, but Boston and Jersey suck.
Chicago is cooler than most places on both coasts, and sits right in the middle of the country
Thinking about this shit as if everything is the same and better on any coast is something only a moron would do.

FOR instance, snowboarding... you're on ice all day any all the riders have super whack unbalanced style. Maybe you are throwing a cork 10... but you look like you re going to die in doing so. skated in america once and i couldnt find a single spot (not saying there are none i was only there for a week) that was as bad as a standard UK spot
