nothing against Nyberg... I think its important to learn all the stupid/unique tricks to prep for your opponent. PJ didn't really do that, but the again Albert knew how PJ skates all tech, and he didn't learn anything switch?

i've never paid attention to these things till the last couple years, so I assume this has been discussed.

Seeing that this is just freestyle skating with rules of conformity, how come someone like mullen or even kilian martin doesn't come in and just sweep these things with untraditional/uncool tricks? After seeing the swede almost take out PJ with fun tricks rather than the latest greatest tech trick it made me realize their must be some code of conduct these need to maintain in order to compete. Which again, seems like more conformity.

also, the level of skating these things display is godlike and the fact that the footage is so disposable makes me sad for skating. Casualty of the internet.

I really like Albert Nyberg, but I'm still glad PJ won. The Elmo gear and that beanie reminded me of early 90s trends. I don't know what's going on with the necklace, but whatever.

So, basically Nyberg broke a bunch of unspoken rules with those tricks. It's funny that PJ kind of called him out for it; but I do think that it made the game more fun to watch. It's a bit like kicking your opponent in the balls or throwing sand in their eyes. We agree not to do it, but it can make a fight way more interesting.
