I was just appreciating his Visual Sound part yesterday. The part in the commentary track where he says he "stole" his f/s 180's from Gonz really made sense. His clips from the Stereo Berrics clip are probably still my favorite from that site.

I would have never minded him having his acting career if he managed to keep it separate from his skating career, but I agree completely.

A few years ago Dennis McGrath and Grant B. were on some little lecture tour at/with Leica. It was free. A few friends I went to it. Was great.

A few weeks later J. Lee was more or less doing the same. But he was charging $100+ a ticket. Price dropped to like $60, because no one was buying. We didn’t go, because fuck that.

Great skater. But he seems to have become way too self-important.

Skated with J.Lee a bunch of years ago when he was on WESC - that came about when Chris Pastras was TM for Osiris during the storm tour and did a signing at the WESC store in Stockholm where Pastras digged the clothing and do what he always done, use Jason’s name to get something, and they got hooked up. I was on that tour for a week with them skating the demos.

Both those dude are was full of them selves, especially Dine seems to think he a major important part of skateboarding history when his major contribution is living in Jason’s shadow.

Bought a signed photobook from Jason, cause you know, one of my favorite skaters. But he is not a good photographer, that’s for sure. Both those dudes icks me out.

Also bought Dennis McGraths book about Lennie Kirk, got it signed and a good conversation with him. His photography on the other hand is hella dope.

Nevertheless, Jason’s part in Video days will always be a top5 for me.

I rememeber being so fucking butthurt when Tincan came out and I got all the way to then end and he had no part, not only did he have no part, it was the jump ramp tricks and him singing with a guitar like he was trolling me. Fuck it still pisses me off thinking about it. I left the skateshop I watched it at in a silent rage.
