The reporter made it seem like the kids "hurling profanities" were physically harming the geezer to the point where he was justified in using a shotgun. He "hoped" they would be two warning shots? This is such fucking bullshit. There's no excuse to ever shoot anyone unless it's during a war which in most cases even wars are uncalled for. I suppose you could say it's called for if it's self defense but that circumstance should be made extremely difficult bordering nearly impossible for two people to have guns. I mean, what if this kid just so happened to have a gun in his car? If he shot back what would he have gotten? That would be self defense right? Seriously. Imagine skating some spot and all of a sudden you get shot in the knee. This guy possibly severely limited or ended a kid's ability to skate at a certain level. And he's a firefighter which means he should be setting a good example. Sheesh, whatever. There's been so many people like this that it's almost made me lose all respect for firefighters and cops. It's especially disheartening to hear about these things being an american living abroad. And just as I was thinking about moving back to nyc.... End rant.

Some skateboarder just got killed in Kansas City, KS in what the news reports called a "skateboard beef". The kids defense was also saying it was a "warning shot". I believe that the shooter in that case is being charged with second degree murder. Regardless of the punishment to the shooter, no skateboarder should have to worry about being attacked or even worse, killed because they ride a skateboard. Someone said they read it as regular firefighter, and I wouldn't be surprised if he did have a mental handicap. If you wanna read about that case, I believe you can go to the Killa City archives. This is connected to the weekly alternative magazine The Pitch. The case is absolutely ridiculous. Essentially white ass wanna-be gangsta kids have fights in a local skatepark, and shit escalates.
