Grew up reading Marvel, Wolverine Enemy of the State is great, I'd recommend that one, anything Mark Millar writes is usually good.
I don't read too much of that any more though, I'm re-reading all the McFarlane era Hulk stuff. I like Ann Nocenti and John Romita Jr's run on Daredevil in the 80's, bit more to it all than just the superhero stuff, addresses more real world issues.
Lone Wolf and Cub is great, you feel like you're learning something while reading it. All the Junji Ito Uzumaki and Tomie Stuff is great and beautifully drawn. Taiyo Matsumoto is great too, I don't get too down that whole Manga rabbit hole, but I know what I like, Tekkonkincrete is a great read.
Been into Southern Bastards lately. I like Alexis Zirits art too, so Space Riders and Tarantula are pretty fun.
Yes all the Charles Burnes stuff rules, Mignola and Hellboy is great stuff. So much good stuff out there.
All time favorite is 1968 era Silver Surfer though I think. John Buscema drawing him is amazing.
