I want to be fluent in Spanish by the end of 2012. I speak a decent amount and understand more. Maybe it is time to fork over the money for Rosetta Stone.

I need to step up on the skating game, I have the time but things keep getting in the way for a good timely session so I constantly blow off skating.
Transfer into a University but to do that, I need to step up and get A's in all my classes this semester

I would consider other options besides Rosetta Stone. It's not for everyone and I certainly wouldn't waste a dime on it when it's available for free on PB. I'm no multilinguist or anything but I have tried it and it's not very effective. It's all repitition without translations and explanations. I suggest a combination of a textbook and a variety of Spanish movies with English subtitles. That way you are able to pick up commonly used words in the movie dialogue, while you have the text book as a reference for grammar and vocab.
