I figured I'd make this thread because I noticed that people are talking about movies that aren't even out yet in the "Last Good Movie You Saw" thread. I love talking about/getting stoked on upcoming movies and felt the discussion deserved its own thread.

I'll start things off with Paul Thomas Anderson's The Master. For anyone who doesn't know, it has been officially confirmed at Cannes that this film is in fact about Scientology. This clip is amazing and Joaquin Pheonix looks like he's on the verge of the best role of his career as he's almost unrecognizable. The score is done by Radiohead's Jonny Greenwood who also did There Will Be Blood. From this clip, the two sound quite similar. Enjoy.

Even though Quantum of Solace was kind of messy, this looks very promising.

Agreed to all of the above.

People are probably going to be tempted to write it off just because Kristen Stewart plays a big part, but I'm reading the book again right now and the more I think about it the more stoked I am for this.

Also, too early for trailers/much detail but this movie is going to be fucking sick, I guarantee it

According to Stan Lee via CNN, a Dr. Strange movie is in the works. That's what i'm looking forward to.

looks like it has shades of Armour of God which is on par with Project A as my fave JCHan movie (re-watched it with the wife last night after seeing this)

this looks really awesome, but pretty bummed that Kristin Stewart is snow white. wish they would have cast someone paler/weirder/hotter (its snow white, not kinda pink). cristina ricci or rose mcgowan in their prime would have been perfect.

Directed by the guy who made BRICK, which I'm pretty sure was a hit on Slap. Hyped for this

Maybe I just got stoked by the trailer, but this looks really fucking good. Its based on a true story, and an incredible one. Bryan Cranston is always awesome, could be a good role from Ben Affleck, although many will write it off seeing his name.

the trailer for The Master is so sick. got me so hyped and didnt seem to give anything away. so, yeah that and moonrise kingdom and dark knight. i like movies, but am rarely ever hyped for them before hand, so im stoked to have 3 coming up to go see

Am I the only person who thinks that The Chernobyl Diaries looks pretty rad? At least the concept seems pretty sick.

The beginning of the trailer makes me think its one of those porns where the Ukranian guy picks up a girl on the street and gives her a bunch of cash to do shit to her then eventually fucks her. I wonder if the two are related at all?

I can fap to the Skyfall trailer - Love Daniel Craig and this new interpretation of Bond. I've seen Casino Royale like a bazillion times (Quantum of Solace was weaker, but I've seen that more than twice also)

Looking forward to The Bourne Legacy. Jeremy Renner is a badass. I've seen the Bourne trilogy so many times (although I hate the camera work in the later iterations). Like, even though there's no Jason Bourne/Matt Damon in this one, it's going to be so sick seeing a perfected Treadstone super soldier. It's nice that they're fleshing out this universe more with this film.

Dark Knight goes without saying, I'll definitely be seeing Prometheus too

Lawless definitely looks sick. Pretty stoked on another Bourne movie. I've also seen em all so many times, cuz FX seems to love playing em over and over.

Found out that Prometheus is going to be released in IMAX...in 3D

You guys don't know how much I loathe 3D - the technology is just not there yet and it just ruins the fucking film. You'd think Ridley Scott would know a thing or two about this. Why would you compromise color and brightness for some vague sense of depth? You'd have to be a 5 year old to be entertained by maybe having something fly into your face for a few seconds within the film. It's a stupid gimmick that is a waste of time and money. Yes, I do feel strongly about this.

I've just been spoiled by IMAX. The giant screen and the sound, it's so awesome. I saw the Avengers in regular theaters, I was cool with it but you really do get spoiled.

I'm a big believer in the movie going experience and IMAX is just so immersive, much more than 3D will ever be. Maybe one day the technology will catch up and it can be implemented properly, but now, not so much.

Holy fuck another god damn period piece that uses current music for its trailer. I understand its Luhrmann and with Romeo and Juliet, he tries to tie parallels into current pop culture and trend?

Fuck Auto Tune. Fuck movies set in the 1920's that are using JayZ for their trailers.

It will probably be good no denying that I just really hate that trailer
