Skate spots in Rome
« on: November 13, 2006, 08:39:17 PM »
Im about to go on vacation to Rome for a week this coming sunday. I was wondering if anyone knows of any Itallian skateboarding websites or any knowledge of spots in the area. Thanks for any help!

italian ground is terrible. milan is a much better city for skating. rome has a lot of cobblestone streets. you'll see a few things just being around the city. i can't think of any outrageous highlights...stick to more financial district types of places.

I went to Rome a year ago. There wasn't that much stuff to skate. I saw only a few spots and walked around the city quite a lot. Or I just happened to miss all the spots walknig around the old parts of the city.
There is this one plaza but I don't remember the name of it... it had "mussolini" written all over and the olympics stadium was right next to it. It's worth visiting but not a mind blowing spot.
I think there's some footy from it on one of those Zoo York tour vids. Ppl skate a gap in front of a statue. And the flatground is white marble.

The guy at 7hills gave me this map:

https://trustever.it/raidaroma/?fbclid=PAZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAadmRqW3q8ogXU_kFXFgajV2ULXEGAzE_GILUNjnGUECmT5_156wiy_4l5ASEQ_aem_ybCXUr9f8og66uvE56a-4w

Yes, use this map, go to Ponte Della Musica if you just want a chill sesh, it's a DIY under the bridge and has a nice shade which is crucial to have since it's like 35C (95F) these days.

Rome is beatiful, stunning and chaotic. It's not an easy city to skate for sure but it has a lot to offer, especially if you look closely but it's rough tho you will only find a nice flatground at the Ara Pacis museum most likely hahaha.

Have a great time in Rome!

I just got back from vacation in Rome and can confidently say there isn’t much to skate. Also a lot of the ground is cobblestone. Mixing the cobble stone, the amount of traffic, and tourists. It’s probably so hectic to try and skate. Coloseum skatepark did look very bomb tho.

probably you visit only the center of the city where all the tourist stay and they keep the old streets
for skateing is a great city , you need to search the spots or ask to locals ,like in any city

I made a short video from my recent trip to Roma. The ledge clips are from the Aranci DYI, the bank is on Tiberina island. Hopefully you can view it as I got a partial copyright strike. Let me know, otherwise I can re upload without music.
why come?
