my favorite skateboarder of all time. pretty sure after bummer high going under and converse dropping him he just left the skateboard world respectfully. as someone else mentioned, he never put out a bad part or did anything kooky. it’s better to leave with respect than to just stick around and milk skateboarding off of the legendary shit you did in the past as a lot of others have and still do. i saw him skate a bummer high demo about 10 years ago. he was still killing it and just looked so amazing on his board. he’s got that aspect that people talk about often with julien or alex olson where he’s one of those guys thats always been easy on the eyes and you love to watch in videos but, seeing them skate in person is completely unreal. it’s like you didn’t think their style could be any better and then you see it first hand it’s just something else. it was a real treat. i went outside to smoke a cigarette afterwards and saw him smoking by himself so i nervously went up and started a conversation. he was super mellow and easy to talk to even though i was maybe 14 years old and we needed up talking bullshit for a good 20 minutes or so. that completely solidified my respect for him and he’s been my favorite ever since. i’m not sure what he does for work but, i do know that he was super into doom metal/stoner rock and playing guitar a lot so i’m sure he’s still doing that and livin the easy life. god bless ethan fowler.
