My 93s are still in the packaging on my book shelf and might be there until Autumn,

Right now 54mm 99a Radials are the truth.

My 93s are sitting in a bag, with bearings set, in my car 'just in case' I roll up to some crusty crust spot.

Just wanted to chime in and say how great the 93's are. I've ridden 99's my whole life and had the mentality "if it aint broke dont fix it".

I set up a Christmas complete with the 93's and compared it to my old set up with the 99's.

Wow...never realized how much vibrations there was from my 99's. The 93's do everything they claim to do and honestly I havent been this impressed with a skate product in a while. So much to the point I will probably be sticking with these.

It's one of those products you dont really think you need...then you try it out and you're like wtf...I wish I had this from the start.

Biggest take aways: I can skate longer cause the softer wheels absorbs the vibrations, I dont have to push as much, I go faster, I can set up for my tricks better per having a smoother ride.

I'm curious, which 99 are you talking about?

After about 3 weeks on my 93s, I'm going back to 99 F4s. The 93s were amazing at first, but the slide started to get stickier over time as they got worn in, especially on "angled" slides like crooked grinds and smiths. I guess that's true for pretty much every wheel, it's just more pronounced with these. Sucks because everything else noted about the wheel is great. They're fast, I definitely notice less aches in my knees afterwards, etc. But as someone who pretty much exclusively skates ledges and curbs, the slide is essential.

I’ve also gone back to F4 99’s.

Slide was fine, but they were slow. I didn’t like the sound or feel of them.

My local just got updated, so I’m skating there a lot. No need for a softer wheel.

But, if I’m ever going to go skate some rough spots, I have them.

I also retired my 93's. They were fun but 54mm down to 47mm in less than a month just skating them at parks, not even at any crusty spots...never had a wheel wear down that fast. 97s feel kinda slippery with how easy they slide but they just feel...idk normal?

I normally ride 99a classics. Got a set of the new 93a classics a bit ago. Heard a lot people say the 93a were actually better than the 97a version…so I decided to try for myself. I concur.

The 93a seemed to ride better overall than the 97a, which really surprised me. The 97a felt, inexplicably, slower and more sluggish than the 93s. Moreover, the 93a was a lot better at dealing with crust than the 97a, and the 93a also seemed to perform well in other settings, making it seem like a better overall option.

Funny Ben just said the same thing in one of his recent videos. Well, just that he’s sticking to 99’s after trying 93’s.

I’m testing the revamped 97 f4, I think everyone will be stoked on them. Fast like 93’s, slide better than 99’s and a smoother ride on crust with no slowdown at the skatepark.

Slide better than 99s? Crzy. How are they 'better'? Seeing as the 101s are kinda glassy, the 99s were always the sweet spot.

Do they feel like a 99 or are they closer to the 93s? Still bouncy?

Not bouncy, just fast as hell on rougher ground and still bark when I slide.
Definitely feel like a 99ish but don’t vibrate me to death.

This would be huge for me, as a 97a conical full enjoyer. I'm on some 99 CFs right now and I am holding out to buying a new set of wheels til the new 97s drop.

Wait, you mentioned that they slide better than 99s in the previous post, but then mention that they still bark in this recent post - could you clarify? I had an issue with the F4 93s barking on flat bars with pinched tricks (crooks and feebles) so I went back to 99s.

Barking when siliding is a thing powerslide thing, making noise when sliding or pinchgrinding isn't the same bark...it's silly, I know but true.

I'm guessing they sound like hard wheels when powersliding.

That's very exciting to hear.

Correct, to
Me “barking” is a satisfying screech when powersliding, noses/tail slide etc. not the squeaking that occurs on specific metal edges.
This formula feels one notch down from 99 but no loss of slip/grip. They’re fast and don’t feel like soft wheels.
But still allow me to roll over rougher ground with less vibration than traditional f4 99.

How's the slide/pinch squeal (if any)?

Ive noticed none, mostly skated cement ledges and curbs. I’ll get some skatepark time in soon and report back.

The 93s have presented no issues to me when grinding concrete/stone curbs and ledges. Today I did some long 50-50 grinds on transition with metal coping and the grinds felt perfectly normal with no squeaking or feeling of slowness. If something, they might stick a bit easier when e.g. doing boardslides/lipslides on curbs. Or maybe I just haven't been waxing the tops of the curbs properly (I usually don't even bother).

My go-to local park is a combination of semi-rough asphalt and smoother (but not overly smooth) concrete, and the 93s fit the bill pretty perfectly. They're fast grown into my all-around wheel of choice.

I bounce around a lot, but these seem like the ones for me. They do everything, I don’t need to switch my setup depending on terrain. But if I’m gonna spend all day pushing around in the streets I will probably set up 93’s.

I'm trying to not get hyped/my hopes up. But just like the x-formula, the x99s fixed any issues with dragons/x97s but still feel
soft and bouncy...seems like the 97a is what those who've tried them all (including the 93s) is what we're after.

I wonder what shapes we're going to get. Conicals and OG Classics/Regs classics?

Hoping it's Radials and Classics like the 93. I prefer any Spit wit a rounded sidewall vs the straighter conical, but am not all that picky.
