Yeah I was able to find a pair within this year. I haven't skated them yet though, the sole is so thick and unbroken in still. Just wearing them around until they're skate able.

Skytop 3
Vaider Lites
Friend skated s1w and said they were good
Haven't had Telfords but they look good

Haven't skated them but air walk reissued that green and tan shoe everyone was skating back in the early 90s blind days. They look pretty sick in black.

Such a lack of mid top cup sole it's insane

Damn. A little work with a seam ripper and you got yourself a handsome mid-top for 40 beans. Wonder how they hold up?

s1w and dunk mids are both very good. dunks take longer to break in.

They made them a year ago as some kind of premium-materials-limited-anniversary-thing.

Stage 4's?

I think you might be better off finding a beefed up vulc and put in some insoles.....it's not ideal but it opens up your options....I had the same parameters and it's super hard...especially if you rule out Nike.....

I got orthotics and skate the campus vulc mid and I like them.....

Dudes swear by the sky tops but I don't like how they look....

All depends on what you're looking for.

The Lakai Howard Boots are good. Good shape, fit, and look. Plus they skate like a champ. However, they're thin.

It looks like Vans discontinued the Stage 4 Mid, which is a bummer, but if you can find those on sale, I'd recommend them. Skates a lot like a vulc but slightly more padded and comfortable.

It would seem that people either love or hate the Emerica Reynolds. I personally did not like them. Too bulky and the toe was weird.

Although Nike is what it is, they make good shoes, and the Dunk Mid is a really good skating shoe. In addition, the Koston Mid will drop soon, and everyone liked the low.

Supra has a bunch of options, but these don't appeal to a lot of people either. They do have the Ellington and an Ellington Mid/High dropping soon that looks pretty solid however. I had the Skytop 3's, as a joke. They were comfy but I couldn't get used to them or want to skate them.

Despite the lack of models, most companies do offer one or two options such as the Adidas Pro Model,  Cons Pro Leather Skate Mid, and Etnies many offerings.

Something to greatly consider, is a well padded vulc. Nike and Cons shoes now come with Lunarlon in almost every shoe, and I don't think anyone that has felt that comfort would be bummed on that.
