Real. They've been one of my favorite teams for years but just have the worst fucking graphics.
Yeah, Real have always been one of my fav's but the board are so bland. They used to do sick boards. I had a Huf with wine bottles but that was pre Y2k.

They need to do more stuff like this.

Mystery is pretty awful

Mystery had a good illustrator at the time but everyone bitched about it being full dipped and only in black and white. I actually really dug it at the time:

Any brand that has skulls or booze or weed or almost naked chicks or zombies or pirates or ninjas or robots or cartoon style characters as a graphic.

Decks should just have the brand name or logo and the name of the pro.

Graphics like these are often the sickest to me

[close]
I mean, I like those kinds of graphics, but let's be honest, they're boring as hell, you're going to tell me that you don't like this?

Also on the topic of birdhouse, they were really shitty for a long time, but now a lot of their shit is on point

I actually love those graphics and that mccrank graphic is sick, reminds me of the early 2000s boards which I fucking love

Some decks make me think "who the fuck is buying this?"

deathwish.

You should really follow or look into Brian Romero who does all the Deathwish stuff. Dude is rad and the graphics really have a grass roots feel. Everything is hand draw for the most part. Made me really like Deathwish a lot. I thought their Hollywood walk of fame set was one of the better stuff out.

But right now though, they one offs for each pro and all those boards look sick!

Everything under Blitz sucks. Flip and Blind suck too.

they've been mentioned, you just don't read the thread in all it's barely 2 page entirety

I love how people were sucking LEs dick not too long ago and now they're getting touted as the brand with the worst art direction bar none, typical SLAP logic/ fickleness

Just saw blind's latest shit and they're pretty fucking horrible

The one you posted is really old, though. It's almost like the Hanging Klansman of Foundation (in that it's been used since forever).

This one's from 1994, for example...

Also, word on Shake Junt.

True, but I dig a reissue like that over a shitty real graphic or girl graphic anyway.

This one is pretty sick though

They ruined that one with the font that Nick Merlino's name is in.

real... hands down. Mainly because they have the potential to have one of the top brands going in the all around department.... everything is there a company need to be great but graphics... and they put like 15 graphics on each board.
In the 90's real had their graphic game on point. Super simple. Even now when they do the odd simple graphic it looks to computerized and almost cartoonish... it is horrible.

Completely agree. At one time Real was consistently putting out killer graphic series. Every graphic had some small representation of the rider. Max's boards were always so sick. No idea why they decided to go with the hyper font every season, every release. They've become 'just another brand' to me and that bums me out.

I hate to do it but 3D so far has been a huge bust. This is the new decks with artwork done by BA:

I've always wished that I could meet BA and make him fall in love with me, but then I see his art and I start to worry about that idea. You see, if BA fell in love with me I'd always feel terrible because in my heart I'd feel like I should tell him that his art is the most awful art I've ever seen. I'd have to say a lot of things like, "Wow that's really amazing that you drew that!" or "You really are getting better."...you know...non-committal stuff. It'd be like being with a girl/guy who loves to sing with all her/his heart but sounds like Froggy from the Li'l Rascals.

One thing this thread has taught me, though, is that some people like some brands and other people like other brands. For that I'll always be thankful to this thread.

You and me both, Gay. Everything he does on a skateboard oozes with sexual energy and grace. Perhaps he can convert our artistic palates with his musty man love... Or perhaps love is blind, but love can't make you blind.
