I hate to do it but 3D so far has been a huge bust. This is the new decks with artwork done by BA:

I've always wished that I could meet BA and make him fall in love with me, but then I see his art and I start to worry about that idea. You see, if BA fell in love with me I'd always feel terrible because in my heart I'd feel like I should tell him that his art is the most awful art I've ever seen. I'd have to say a lot of things like, "Wow that's really amazing that you drew that!" or "You really are getting better."...you know...non-committal stuff. It'd be like being with a girl/guy who loves to sing with all her/his heart but sounds like Froggy from the Li'l Rascals.

One thing this thread has taught me, though, is that some people like some brands and other people like other brands. For that I'll always be thankful to this thread.

It's hard to accept the fact that I don't like 3d. Brian's my favorite skater and his Girl artwork series I thought had a lot of promise. I've been rooting for him and his new company, but it's just a little bit of a letdown. Every new 3d drop, I comb through the graphics and hope for something that resonates- I'm still holding my breath. Brad and Brian are such rad dudes, I just hope for the best for both of them.

5 Boro stays pretty consistent with good stuff and proper collabs. Their Smith Street pin up girls was on point even though I doubt everyone is into that kind of art. They did have meh stuff but I always dig their work:




Western Edition is up there as well imo. Girl and Chocolate always have gems even though their current stuff is whatever. Skate Mental is dope for what it is. They have their odd humor but I think it works and their illustrator knows what he is doing. I actually think Expedition is decent as well.

Agreed Fong, EXP1 and Organika have a pretty distinct vision and identity with solid art direction year to year. I also think Habitat is consistent from one run to the next. I'm not too hyped on the Dela 'Gone Green' pot leaf graphic, and the Button series was kind of whatever, but for the most part Castrucci's art direction is always on point.

Lifeblood has consistently put out some of the worst graphics.  Couple of OK graphics, here and there, but the majority is just awful.  Stuff like this and logo boards.

Agreed. Although I do like their boards non the less, my local shop always has some unheard distribution boards that are relatively cheap so I buy em. Also they have size 9's which is kind of a tough size to find

I had this board on the wall in my shop and one of my team guys snatched it up. He was hyped on the graphic, but before he set it up, the first thing the did was sticker over the name. Ha!
