The slims are pretty skinny already.

http://autobahnwheelco.com/autobahntech/

If you can find them Autobahn gets down down 0.5mm skinner but I think we're splitting hairs at this point.

thank you, those bones look sweet

is autobahn still in business? if not then thats a bummer

I've wondered the same thing. I think it's dead as far as a team is concerned. But it seems like AEND is still selling old wheels. I think they also own the trademark. I thought it was Jason Rogers' company. Maybe he lost it to them?

Yes. I ride 52 mm 101 conicals, they're pretty f4 conical full-ish in size. I flatspotted one wheel first or second session, I landed in a full pressure revert, would probably flatspot brand new f4 and stfs as well. Managed to ride it out in a couple of days and since then they've been awesome, I really like them.

Help me decide fellas:

Spitfire Radial Slims in 51mm 99a
Spitfire Radial Slims in 54mm 101a
Bone V1 52mm 83b

Always wanted to try a pair of Radial Slims and heard the V1 is pretty close to the shape. I'm riding a conical shape now in 83b, the wide riding patch is great but I'm feeling every crack and bump in the road. I'm torn between going up or down in terms of wheel size, I'm riding 52mm right now.
Venture Truck Height:

5.0 & 5.2 LO
STANDARD - 1.88” - 47.75mm
FORGED - 1.85”- 46.99mm

5.0 ,5.2, 5.6, 5.8 & 6.1 HI
STANDARD - 2.09” - 53.09mm
FORGED - 2.04” - 51.82m

wasnt a choice but id say radial slim 54 99a. im riding 52 99a and i would size up cause i love to slide on them. popular complaint of this shape is that the 101a is too brutal on anything but smooth ground so id assume the same would be said about 83b bones
while cool-guying is a real phenomenon, studies show that 83% of all cool-guying incidents can be attributed to the cool-guyee being an awkward weirdo

I'm browsing the 55-ish mm v-cut marketplace...
Curious about Portland wheels. These look pretty tits, but 104a? I bet they suck. Anybody skate them?

no such thing as 104a...

PWC use Creative Urethane. Some people really like it and I wish I could support it and other smaller wheel companies but every time I try, I quickly remember its just slower and less durable compared to the big 2. Not much can compare to Bones SPF/STF or Spitfire F4s.

Does anyone have more info on who makes what wheels? There's 3-4 US companies making wheels for other brands? Then some smaller companies selling cheaper stuff? Several factories in China?

Creative - 1st urethane wheel, right?

Mearthane - Speed Wheels in the 80's?

AEND - Darkstar (still?), Wreck, Autobahn
They do good cored wheels? Bunch of companies used them, I remember seeing an Element cored wheel in an AEND vid

Labeda - Mostly longerboard, blader, rollerskate stuff? Specialize in cored wheels too?

Skateone - Powell, Bones

Pointech - Spitfire
Did they do Hubba back in the day?
What about an Alva brand called Charger wheels?
Mid-90's brand with a bunch of Plan B riders? Dway, Colin, Duffy. Wheels were really icey, slid too well

Small guys..
Control - did Satori Movement?

Point Distribution - look like blank shop wheels

I really wish we could all just get over it and move onto the d scale.
A little comparison branding at the start 99a=50d and then you'd have a more accurate true measure.
Everybody hates change but buying a new wheel brand is a crap shoot as is, never mind trying to figure out if 86b is going suit better than 101a.
They are the second most replaced part of your set up. Companies all agreed to move to the new truck hole pattern, why not durometer scale?
Hey, hey, hey. Don't be mean. We don't have to be mean because, remember, no matter where you go, there you are.

I have a scale D durometer and it doesn’t show any difference between 101A and 99A Formula Fours. Unfortunately I feel like something better should be developed for assessing skateboard wheel hardness, grip etc.

I'm sure this is somewhere in the thread, but it's 81 pages so I'm asking. What is a good wheel for dusty indoor bowls? I'm currently riding mini logo 55mm 101a and can't stop sliding out.

Softer wheels and clean the bowl . I used to skate and indoor park and after a few runs you’d have to slide your wheels also if the wheels I get the crud off because the lazy humans working there wouldn’t clean the park . When I asked the person to clean the park she was all gross ! Yeah no shit we don’t want to skate this . Somewhere in flemington nj

I have some 95a speedlab’s exclusively for dusty indoor tranny. They’re dogshit on anything else, but for indoor skatlelite they’re just the ticket.

currently running some 54mm Heroin 101a's, skated a couple varying indoor ramps and haven't had any sudden slip outs or anything like that. Somewhat grippy but still slide if needed. Maybe drop to 99a or even 97 if you're worried.

I have some 56mm 101 F4 Classics that’s I’ve barely skated and I’ll probably never get to them. I’ve settled on a much smaller wheel as best for me. Anyone got some 50-53mm wheels laying around and wanna trade?

Bones SPF 81b - perfect balance of fast as hell and grippy
Santa Cruz Slimeballs 97a - nice wide contact patch on the 60mm's. If 60mm is too big they make minis too
Speedlab Bombshells 99a - 57mm fast, grips like slimeballs, great all-around wheel
Speedlab Nomads 97a - 56mm fast and grippy

I had a set of mini logo C-cut 101's a while ago. They felt much softer than that.
I would go with 97 and under.

Yeah all elites. The Dressen is mini combo and Nora is hardline...both wide, but maybe different shape makes a difference
