Thought this was a pretty cool video on wide snot wheels:

The bummer with snot is the slide, they're just generic (tho the higher end of it) creative wheels..sad too because they offer great shapes AND colors.

I don't recall the wheels from the clips exactly but people have said in the past he rides Conical Full in 52, 53 or 54 mm depending on different circumstances.

Look about right for those black ones in the most recent Instagram clip anyway.

They could have been these ones in 53 mm:

Gone since 1988.  I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

Not sure if the above is current or not, but he regularly rides those black spit 52mm og fireball conicals (you can still get them at zoomz as they seem to have an endless supply).

Anyone have any insider knowledge if the x97’s are being phased out?
Thanks y’all. It’s been fun.

I noticed them being MIA as well, I think they [currently] shifted to the 97a Nano rats for a run - doesn't seem like PP does full runs of everything anymore, but stick to drops of certain shapes/duro (like how STFs were MIA for the initial x99 run).

FWIW, the nano rat 97s are slighter harder/less bouncy, whiter and louder than the previous x97s. It's a very different wheel (better) will be interesting to see of they do an x99 refresh with whatever tweaks they've done.

Thanks!

And I had no idea skateone website shows what the wheels look like rolling. I am having way too much fun making them spin.

Especially this one.

Just got a free set of BBS/ Generator blank wheels with an order I placed with Skate Samples.

I'll likely pass them on to a kid who needs them but anyone tried them?

I wish you’d try them out first & report back to us curious types before passing them on.
What if they’re hella good?
What if they’re just unbranded Spits?
You could be on the no one cusp of a major discovery!
The research MUST BE done.
For the culture.

I wanna play you in a game of SKATE for the right to continue talking shit on me… You think you got me?

Ha yeah, imagine if they were "special unbranded" F4 or something similar.

I seem to recall someone skating a set, or it might have been from another woodshop supplier, but they said they were surprised how good they felt and skated, so it is worth setting them up to see, especially if the end result is you are just going to give them away anyway, so at least testing them first would be good, maybe better for us than for you, but hey, we would all appreciate it.

Looking at their site, I think I even got a few sets of very similar wheels a while back, just to put on completes and although they were not Spitfires, they still skated pretty well for what they were so it was good to have a better quality of wheel on the completes for people to use at the indoor skatepark.

Gone since 1988.  I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

Lou and Brimo, you nearly convinced me but I realized recently, as I get close to 50, I can't waste sessions on potentially bunk equipment...

Fair enough.
I don't know why I want a cheap Spitfire option; we got the real deal coming out our ears here in the city.
I suffer from intense curiosity & thought I'd employ you as an agent of query in my unending quest to "catch them all."

As someone over 50…maybe mucking around with gear is a way to keep things interesting because you are pretty much doing the exact same shit every time you step on a skateboard…..

I totally get it, but I also like to mess around with stuff and have dedicated setups for changing or trying things, which is a different situation to most people, especially if you only have your one regular ride or so.

Once a board I like to ride is set up and just perfect, I don't change out a thing on it unless something goes wrong, or I have the urge to upgrade or fix something, otherwise swapping in or out sub par product would just be a pain for me too.

Any which way, for anyone who can't afford the best, then something like those wheels would be a good option to keep someone rolling, such as a guy I know who is on some pretty average wheels and bearings right now while they save up for some Spitfire or Bones wheels.

Just how it goes I guess.

Not for me. I'm on somewhat of a mission. Not sure how old you are, but at 49 I'm  still learning new stuff on occasion. Its not pretty but its motivating...

The more consistent I am with my set up the better it serves my skateboarding, including learning new shit or relearning old shit...

In saying that, I do vary my equipment within certain parameters here and there. Always F4s (I'll play with different duros, sizes and shapes), always Ace (maybe the occasional dance with Stage 4 and will try the new Thunder), always BBS, typically Huffer.
