Not sure if this is the right thread for this, but I bought a set of the Spitfire Charger Classics from the local today, and almost all the wheels cores were too big for the bearing to fit into. I took them back to the shop and they got me hooked up with 4 wheels that all fit but had to go through like 3 different sets of wheels to get 4 that all took bearings normally. He mentioned that this has been a consistent issue with those wheels recently. If you're looking into getting a set of these I would wait a bit until DLX figures their shit out.

Interesting!

Putting race reds or something similar in them would work.  They are the bearings with the pre built spacers so there is zero play and the wheels will work fine on that sort of bearing, as I have done this before with other soft wheels which have had the normal bearings move in them.  I know not everyone has access to race reds or other bearings like that, not to mention the thought that if things are not fitting right to start with, I would always wonder what else can go wrong with them.

Gone since 1988.  I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

I got the gold foil and black prismatic, but I'll probably end up selling/trading those. Hyped on this one!

Not sure if it translates to this photo, but Habitat killed it with the shape they chose for the Al Davis board. 90s-ish football shape. Long, pointy nose and nice long tail. Gonna get this gripped up tonight and I'm thinking I might be sticking with this shape for awhile.

Sticking with a shape that was a specialty shape for a rider who is no longer with the company they made it for? May the force be with you.

unless hes got a stencil of the shape, chances are that this is the last of that shape. i do appreciate skating older boards, though. ride em, dont hide em......(as im slowly re-accumulating wall hangers)

It came too early, at the time everybody was talking shit as I recall.
Had them on some weird blue with yellow stripes because I love Silas but sure at that time I felt odd.
They were hella comfy

Skate Warehouse had a sale at the swap meet. Bummed I didn't get there sooner. I got there early but couldn't find the booth till I saw a gang of kids with boards.

Two Bakers, Habitat (8.25's) and a pair of Tensor Mag Lights for 85 bucks.

This has me cracking up, what exactly does Black Flag have to do with measuring your dick starting behind ya nuts?

Skateboarding is nothing but a game to find the right fits to appear like you're a proportional human being instead of a midget or a giant.

That shape looks similar to one that element was using in 2018. I picked up 5 of the Boston world champs 8.25 x 32.1, 14.25wb decks last spring for cheap and absolutely love the shape. I still have 3 fresh decks left and one that's setup with a bit of life left in it. I was going to save one just to have a reference in case i ever diy some decks. Would love to find this shape in a 8.5 with a 14.38/14.5 wb, that would be perfect. Flip used that same shape too i think. Does it have a 14.5wb?

I got drunk Saturday and called kinetic on the phone and harassed the poor kid working there. I bought a bunch of shit without knowing what any of it looks like so when it gets here I'll be surprised. I also bought a board and a shirt from nj skateshop.

Orchard re-released some older graphics this week. I ordered a few shirts and a couple beer glasses. I’ve lived in California for over 5 years now, but I still consider them a local shop

Hell mother-hugging yes!

Got me some DECK-orations from Fabo Les in the mail. These for sure going on the next couple/few setups.
Since they’re printed on eggshell vinyl backing, I’m sure the miscreant in me will place some at the local spots as well.
Get yours before they’re gone!

Been waiting literally almost a year for these. I limited myself to 5 because I didn't want to completely clean the shop out but I might try to complete the set over time.

Haven't busted out the measuring tape and calipers so no deep dive nerd shit yet but a few initial observations -

- KT board is awesome and pictures don't do it justice.
- Evan Smith is a unique shape, almost symmetrical and very mellow
- seems like they did the "different mold for every graphic" thing again so should be something for everyone

I’ve loved skating in pro leathers, hope that is your experience. Had a few pairs of the trash talk ones. Puleo, in his infms part in particular, made em look real great.

Only really dug into the 2 I bought to skate - Nicholson and Abair. They're not the exact same molds as last time but seem to be following the same general idea - so like the Nicholson is still mellow and the KT is still steep.

Nicholson:

8.25" x 31.6" 14.25wb

7" nose and 6.6"

Like I said it's still mellow but it's not basically just a toy machine this time... More like a quasi this time. Nice wide nose and tail, with very slight tapers on both ends, it's 8.12 at both trucks. I've skated a lot of similar decks so I'm virtually guaranteed to like this.

Abair:

8.25" x 31.75" 14.25"wb

7" nose 6.5" tail

Similar to the Nicholson but not as mellow. Also similar to the last drop but Abair but a little longer and the nose is a bit steeper. Tail is pretty much the same but the nose is significantly steeper and there's a little less fingers of flat. Slight taper to the tail - 8.12 at the back trucks but still 8.25 at the front. I think I'm going to skate this one first because I really like the graphic and it reminds me a little bit of a snack deck I had and really liked.
