Exactly, wasn't a fan of the cw but got them because of the price. Once I got them I was like DAMN.

Bought a realtree zero deck because I liked the dimms, and I remember liking the DSM resin construction.

Someone help me.

I know that I will always be able to buy skateboard decks but the How big is your stack and Tariffs threads got me a little concerned that the prices could go up quite a bit and I only have one spare deck at the moment. I just ordered three of these for $92 w/free shipping. One for me and one for each of my kids. I emailed ATM and it's BBS wood. The 8.38 has an 14.5 wheel base, which I like and the 8" is 14.25, which the kids both like. If the skatepocalypse happens, we'll all be riding ATM!

Got my first Krooked deck. Mark Gonzales 8.25 with a 14.38 wheelbase.
Combined with my ventures this is going to be the longest wheelbase I've ever skated, excited to see how it goes.

That's a sick graphic. Just today saw the old "no smoking or drinking" underwater deck in a book.. And now that mermaid is smoking and drinking underwater. :D

My current Zero R7 deck (8.375 x 14.25, awesome shape and dims) is one of the best decks I've skated in a while, so you don't need any help, you're on the right track, pal.

How's that insole working for ya?

Really good for heel and midfoot, both impact and fatigue. Pretty thin at the toes which doesn't offer much in terms of protection but the shoes fit better because of that.

Also not that thick at the back that they'd mess up the ankle support of the shoes.

WB isn't the issue on this shape for me with Ventures, its the short ass tail. Just pop more off the tip and you'll be OK.

Ok

i need to do that with ventures in general, which works for me because that’s how i came up. i think it’s most likely my issue with complaining about not getting a good pop with other trucks: foot placement.
anyways good callout on your part bc

Some birthday presents for myself:

Sci-Fi 8.25”
Pepper grip
Spitfire 101a conicals

I haven’t skated 101a wheels in a very long time, but I think age 37 is the appropriate time to be rattling around with my feet and body in constant pain

Glad you got them sorted and yeah, $30 for a BBS board is a good deal anywhere.

Copying to the Woodshop thread too, just in case anyone else checks there for the info.

Thanks!

Thunder inverted 148 hollow. But I heard the first run of bushings was wonky so I put some new red thunder bushings I had in and everything is peachy

I skated it for the first time on Saturday and I actually was having some ghost pop issues, didn't realize it has a stubby tail.
But yeah, setting my back foot farther back off the tail helped out.
My consistency suffered a bit on the session, but I was popping tricks higher. Just gonna take some adjustments.
If I can maintain the higher pop and get back to normal consistency I might stick with this setup.
Would be curious to try a 14.38 with a longer tail though.
