The other one that's a "team model" of the janoski. Pretty sad such a giant company cheaps out on paying royalties to riders.

This is shocking news that nobody has been talking about for several years. You're gonna blow the lid off this thing.

This week I spent $80 on Stefans for the 3rd time in a row, yet couldn't tell you one trick that guy has done or even who he rides for. Guess what matters more to me, a good skate shoe for myself or some other guy getting paid to skate?

They always have these bootlegs at my local Ross. Never the real pro model besides PRod's, occasionally Jano's too.

Definitely pulling the "too cool to keep with skating card."  You're honestly trying to act like you have no idea who Janoski is?

I don't give a fuck if the shoe has a pro name. I just want to buy a good shoe for  the lowest price. I work for this, I skate every day.

not bragging at all, just pointing out that the sneaker is worth the money to me. A pair of canvas stefans last me 10x longer than any other skate shoe.

Yes I know who he is. No I don't care about him. Yes, I am too cool.

i couldn't tell, it's confusing, because, well, you basically pay him if you buy his pro model shoe but you don't care?

buying three pairs of full price pro models a week doesn't seem reasonable at all when there are always some colorways on sale somewhere, sounds more like you collect or some shit. and you call em stefans, as if these shoes are your fucking friends...

in the mother thread you said you were a designer. janoski obviously designed your favorite shoe, or so they say, so why not pay the dude for that if you are not familiar enough with his skating to legitimize your purchase on that. i'm sure you'd think it would suck if you design a shoe and people buy the cheaper knock off by the same company so you don't get paid royalties.

EDIT: ok your last post makes more sense, but i still think that attitude is weird as fuck...

Their dwindling now because their stabbing themselves in the hand, too many riders, unpromoted guys.. A teams B teams and C teams, shoes that they've obsoleted followed up with cheaper replacements

I mistyped.

I meant this week I purchased my 3rd pair, not my 3rd pair this week. sorry for the confusion.

This has been happening for a while now and I'm pretty sure I've said this a couple of times on here already, but...

Nike has a bit of a scheme to all of this, they make specifice shoes for each market they target, the funny thing about it all now however, its the lower cut margin shoes that are making Nike SB the most amount of money.

The scheme goes as follows;

Nike SB Pro - Nike SB Signature - Nike SB

Nike SB Pro is the top of the line, selling the likes of GT Blazers, Janoski Premiers, Dunks and Team Editions..
Correct me if I'm wrong on this, but the only places that seem to get these accounts are the big Skate store franchises or shops with team members affiliated with them.

Nike Signature is what most skate shops get offered, its a mix of Janoskies, P-rods, Kostons and all the Air Max affiliation, but also gets access to the standard Nike SB stuff.

Nike SB is the the range that is making Nike's name grow amongst the general populations, this range is sold everywhere! This holds all the 'ripoff' shoes at the lessor prices, but also is the place for Nike to sell off all the shoes that the two above ranges couldn't sell, which is why sometimes you'll walk into a surf shop and see a random Koston 1 floating about...
The whole ripoff stuff however, is just to give these shops the impression they're getting the core stuff, but not really, the problem however is these models sell more than the pro shoes do now, so nike is laughing to the bank because there's less royalties involved.

These models in particular are the most obvious.

Project Ba > Ghost
Kostons > Rabona
Janoski's > Satires & now the Portmore

Despite all the bullshit, this isn't new to the shoe and further more the skate shoe industry, Cons, Adidas, Vans, Globe, DC & Etnies have all been doing it for years and taking turns at when each shoes has been popular.

The Gt blazer hardly quantifies as a full pro model for me, the shoes of the like that are increasing and knock off's in the NikeSb lineup are those such as the squadron(where at glances I didn't even notice)

Sidebar/unrelated, is Emerica making any non-pro models right now? At least that their riders actually skate?

Why anyone would use Nike skate shoes is beyond me.  If you want a cheap unbranded shoe just buy Vans.
