Man what a world series

Both teams put it all out there

Lotta pain in Canada I imagine, but you can't ask for any more than extra innings game 7

For my team, complete irrelevance a quarter of the way through the 21st century

Thanks to both squads for a memorable distraction from real life stuff

If dude took a little bigger lead and maybe slid headfirst the Jays are champs.
So many other things could have happened differently it’s insane but that was probably the best overall World Series ever and the best World Series Game 7 ever as well.

Last night, the announcer went out-of-pocket when they mention this was Ohtani’s second World Series with the Dodgers after spending six seasons with the Angels where he never got to experience a post season game with them 🤣

Not out of pocket.   Arte Moreno should be shamed consistently and publicly

I had no real dog in the fight, I only bandwagon'd the Dodgers because I needed to see the Brewmers swept for the sake of my lil chatroom I hang out in.
But this WS had me screaming with family for LA while still holding some hope for an eruption of joy for a Jays win at home because my friend's cousin is Davis Schneider.
Now the algorithm is blessing me with fan tantrums and I can't help but giggle.

That was an all time Game 7 and series to be honest.  I'm a 100% true blue dodger fan since 1977 so I've seen some ups and downs for a minute.  The Jays did NOT deserve that gut punch, but they left so many damn chances out there on the bases.  That game for sure should have been like 8-2 going into the later innings but they just didn't capitalize.  I stayed a little longer after the game 5 loss in LA because I wanted to see Kershaw walk on the grass one more time coming from the pen and I saw Miguel Rojas just sitting on the railing after everyone left, looked like he was crying.  I assumed he knew this was his last time as a player at Dodger stadium also (probably got told by the GM he wasn't coming back I'm guessing) and he was just soaking it in one more time.  What a fucking way to go out, defensive plays to save game 6 and 7, then a tying homer in the 9th?  Just an unreal scenario for him.  That Pages play to make that catch will live forever in my brain too.  He sucked so bad at the plate he set a record for futility in a WS, worst OPS of all time, but saved the series with defense.

It will be the dumbest possible move if there is a lockout.   Baseball has a tremendous amount of goodwill at the moment and seems as popular as it’s been in awhile (though that could just be me living in LA) that I’d hate for them to nuke it all bc a bunch of owners are too cheap to actually invest in their teams

On another note, so glad the Dodger ownership group got officially approved to buy the Lakers.    Job #1 is making the jerseys gold again, not yellow

I second this!  Those stupid yellow jerseys in the stands when I go to games look ridiculous when someone has a proper gold one on next to them.

Trevor May does a pretty good job of laying out the pros and cons of either side here.

You and the D00D have turned this thread into a horrible head-on-collision between a short bus full of regular kids and a van full of paraplegics.
