Magenta - Swiss Capsule
« on: October 06, 2015, 03:04:41 AM »

It is a Live exclusive so   no embedding.

Really good clip with a lot of footy from Vivien and Soy - love to watch them going for it.
Also the locals from the 242 shops in Geneve and Laussane.

I don't know who any of those dudes are, but that was a really good watch. The guy in the adidas sweatpants was the sickest, some really smooth and flowy lines..

Heard of magenta = know who everyone who rides for them is? Cool logic you got going there.

That would be Glen Fox, he's rad. Really unique way of skating.

Everything about Magenta just hits home for me. I've been skating the boards almost exclusively since 2011 I think. Stylish aesthetics and their whole vibe is just really approachable, down to earth skating. Inspiring for a middle aged European who doesn't jump down shit or skate tranny.

Magenta is such a rad company and always put out quality stuff, except that one with Glen Fox where he did 11 ollies flat in a line sped up x 200, other than that i fully back them and everything they're about!

This is Magenta doing it right in my opinion. The lack of Valls influence was a relief. Every Magenta clip should have at least one soy kickflip, bs tail and trippy nose manny. nollie bs heel is optional but preferred.
I thought it wasnt just him solo, shouldve stuck with my og thought.

This right here.

And that was a really good edit. Will have it on repeat for awhile.

lol at the single clip of a fakie 360 flip on flat.  That is some darren harper shit.

this was alot better than some of their previous efforts.  they must have realized even their biggest fans
are going to call bullshit on half ass skating with soul carves.  the skating in this edit was alot better caliber than
of recent.  glen fox is the worst though.

Watched it a few times too.
Glad they are heading back towards Hill Street Blues territory.
That's what I like about them.

In terms of skill, the skateboarding in magenta clips is very bad compared to the majority of other skate films.

Captain Obvious....

They're very aware of there skill level. That's the best part IMO.

I think it's more embarrassing being the person dishing out the "captain obvious" insult rather than the dude receiving it.

I don't quite understand why a bunch of self-aware bad skaters is so
Appealing but I guess I'm out of the loop. Seems the clothes and
Filming is more important to magenta fans than skating

I agree with you 100%.I'd watch Van Wastell's kronichles part any day over half of the new stuff that's coming out. But Magenta?, man anyone can look stylish when the most difficult shit theyre doing are sess slides in whatever track-suits hot that month

I second this. I haven't been familiar with Vivien's and Soy's skating, but immediately after Vivien first kickflip I was down with dat.

i'm 31.  this is utter horseshit.   "well i'm not that skilled but i have a zany push, soul carve inbetween tricks and wear cool clothes"
that mentality is just as bad if not worse than some 14 year old kid trying to "steez" out a 360 flip at the skatepark.

Watch someone like Wes Kramer if you actually want style and creative tricks and lines.  Bonus: he is actually skilled and doesn't rely on soul carves, unnecessary poweslides and clothes to make it appealing.
where is home?

Most of Magenta's output is sick, skillful skating.  You can't deny Gore, Soy, Vivien arent technically adept AND have good style and taste in selecting spots and tricks.

But that sliding around, popping over paint lines stuff needs to be done in small doses.
example. i cant cast a spelll or love potion on a girl and she falls total in love for me
but i can show a girl my tv youtube clip on my or her phone. but there's a difference ok
