I know its been mentioned in this thread before, but can we confirm that the 933 is slightly thinner than the 480? Anyone have any thoughts on the 933 well broken in? Does the board feel ever improve?
In order:
- Yes.
- Shoe keeps getting better and better.
- A little bit but not that much.

anyone skate the CT500?
they arent numeric
but look a lot like af1s

The sole wouldn't hold up very long. They are nice chillers but they use a really soft rubber. And the price point is kinda steep. Even if you can get them on sale, they wouldn't hold up for skating. Oh and go a half size down on the CT500, they run long.

Not sure if 933 is thinner but definitely feel more flexible and less brick-like than the 480.

Yup, better and better.

I find the boardfeel to be on par with a Dunk but with more stability, comfort, and grip.

Wonder if they still come with that killer box.   Almost worth the price of admission alone.

Those Lites look so much better with the rounded laces than the flat ones. I hope whoever did the ordering didn’t leave out any sizes this time.

They indeed did include 10.5's and 11.5's this time.  That dude really blew it last time...

I would snag those up as I don't see any hi's coming in the foreseeable future for you (or me!).  To be honest, the last few 480 hi's we've done have been a bit soft so I think they're doing more low's for now.

What’s the word on sizing for these? Still go up rather than TTS for most everyone? Trying to figure out if I can rock 12 or just go to 13. The OG 808s were a little too snug in 12.

@rothdigga Any plans on releasing more 272 colorways in the future? I've noticed options are becoming a bit more limited in bigger sizes so wondering if I should stock up in what I can find now or wait it out.

272's stick around for the foreseeable future as far out as I can see.  I'm sure we'll have a replacement at some point but for a minimum of a year we've got 2 colors per season coming.

I sell the shit, I don't control what they're made out of... :)  but yeah, a synth shoe for a synth machine does make sense for semantics.

This might be a weird question, but then again, Slap is pretty weird: does anyone feel they have better control of their ollies with suede shoes as opposed to "normal" leather? Oh yeah, and talking cupsoles here.

I'd attributed my sloppy ollies in certain shoes (mainly dunks) to their chunkiness, but now you mention it all my chunky shoes have been leather and all my thinner shoes suede or canvas so you might be on to something. I have my first pair of leather 600s arriving today so I'll find out for sure soon.

Edit: They just arrived and I’ve noticed they’ve added tongue straps. They feel like they’ll be more comfortable to skate without lacing up to the plastic eyelet, which absolutely ate shoelaces on my older pairs.

I mainly noticed the difference with flip tricks. When I did skate animal suede and leather, it was easier to control flicks with suede. With leather, my foot would slide involuntarily because there’s less friction between the shoe and griptape. However, I don’t think it affected my ollies unless the leather uppers were worn out.

Yes. I feel like I’m slip sliding around with leather, but got that kung fu grip with suede. Cupsole, vulc, doesn’t matter to me, same result with uppers.

Well, an ollie is a relative thing... :D

But yeah, I'm old and hence I have an existential desire to challenge myself to get off the ground and not give up entirely yet.

Anyone has to go half size down with the 933? I tried in my usual size but they felt too long. Not sure if half size down would be wide enough.

Nope, tts for me works great but I do remember when they were brand new I was thinking that maybe half size bigger would be good.

... that maybe half size bigger would be good.

I've got the grey 933 D width. And while the width feels TTS for me, they do feel a wee bit short compared to e.g. the 440 V2. My toes sometimes hit the end of the toe box and generally feel quite cramped. Shoved a couple of SpitFire classics and rolled up socks down there, hoping to stretch them out a bit.

Edit: Also, I was finding the sole oddly hard. So I tried swapping out the insole with a 440 V2 one and that made for a softer/comfier feel.

Yea for sure there is a difference. Suede is grippier than "normal" leather.

Whether or not it's "better" would come down to personal preference though.

Most of the 480 high colorways I've skated have been leather, so I've gotten used to it. The first time I skated the Black suede ones they almost felt too grippy. But I adjusted eventually

If anyone in here missed out on getting the launch color NM933MNO here in the states in their size (11.5-14), those have arrived and are at shops now again.  Hit your local up if they got another batch or check online at one of the homie stores like Kinetic or whatever you choose to use and snag some if you REALLY wanted that color.  I know I had a few people hit me up wanting to know when they were coming back so I figured I would let everyone know they're back in now.   1 time run of those big sizes along with a small run down to size 8 to round it out.
