will skate them tomorrow!

Sick, I hope they hold up. I hope NB# brings em back.

Just started skating my fifth pair of 508s. Can't wait to see Intervals.

That shoe feels very much of an era that doesn’t exist anymore.   Like Nike Koston 2 with these big one piece shoes.  Certainly doesn’t feel like it’d be in the line up with what NB does now

That textured leather on the toe was alright but yea I can definitely see how it would not fit with what they are doing currently, fuck it put a panel on the toe and make some nice colorways id be down, it definitely skated well, and was pretty fucking light for how much tech was in the shoe

I'm not sure if it's the paneling or what, but most of the 440 high color ways look a little off to me.

I feel like the v1 looked better, but the v2 def feels better.

Fellow Dad, I love the look of the 440 V2 highs. A cuff or two of the pantaloon and Dad is looking far from a goon.

Confirmed by wife and daughter. No harsher critics.

Please don't put any more panels on the 508, the one piece toe on a slim cup is why I was interested in the first place

I’ve just always assumed white shoes weren’t for me. It doesn’t matter how I look at the sesh, as my homies are pretty lax with how they dress. I’ll be trying to channel my inner 1988 James Hetfield. I’ll be wearing my pads and helmet too, is it’s a pretty moot point  ;D

If I could only ever wear black/gum shoes, it’d be fine by me.

FWIW, I just got a new pair of the black 480 lows. They also have tongue straps now. The first pair I got didn't. Big improvement. Now I just need a pile of the extra Ortholite insoles that came with my Chocolate 480s. Can't stand the stock 480 insole.

Why tf does every colorway of the 1010 have to have so much going on? I had the black/sea salts and they got ruined in the rain yesterday and I'm trying to find a different color...guess not lol.

I feel that NB sometimes introduces colorways that are just way too busy especially in the 808. Or like how many grey/white/beige shoes with a green N do we need?

agreed. I can't do white either. I had some all white canvas 213s and they were OK once fucked up and dirtied... I almost always aim for black and dark colors. I have the brown 440 V2 highs and the olive/ black 440v2 lows at the moment. Daughter says they look good. Midddle aged fashion is a struggle...

Thanks! I wanna give some NB's a shot but I've heard a lot of their shoes are not super wide foot friendly. I wanted to give the 480's a shot, but people who skate dunks say go half a size up and I'm already size 12 :(

I'm not sure if my feet are super wide. But they are definitely on the wider side. I was hella hyped on the 480s but they didn't fit my feet although they felt wide at the right places. But there are some shoes that work really well for me personally. You might want to try on some of these ones. 306, 440V2 and 600. The 1010 and 272 felt both a bit too wide for me in the toe area but maybe they can work for you. I don't find NB particularly narrow to be honest. At least not narrower as some Vans models or some Adidas. But every feet are different and some pals might disagree with me here.

I can back you on this opinion. That’s what has not worked for me and the New Balance that I’ve skated. Not snug enough, always loose around the heel. I thought I might just need to try a half size down in 440’s but then they were way too short in length. They are actually the only brand that I’ve experienced this with across all models.

NP. I've had a few pairs of 480s and they all feel slightly too big IMO. I skate a consistent 11 in SB dunks and the 11 in 480 low and hi feel very roomy. I've tried on a 10.5 but they're slightly too tight so I've stuck with the 11. I dig them a lot as they're one of a small handful of shoes (440 v2, 1010, AVE 2, Rowan 2) that I don't need aftermarket insoles to skate in. But, as others have posted, everyone's foot is different maybe try them on first if you can.

Can anyone comment on which NB's have a low toebox? the 1010's fit me really well for example but the 480's have a lot of space above my toes. Looking to see what else would fit like the Tiagos.

imo the 600s fit very similarly to the 1010s. They feel like a slimmed down version of the 1010s to me

Dad's know!

For walking/ chillin/ workin'/ being on my feet all day I like the 574s (not Numeric).

For skateboarding I like the 440s for cupsoles. I was a huge fan of the 212s/ 213s. they were the super minimal no frills, mostly canvas vulcs. I had to upgrade the insoles and they weren't great for my feet but felt great for my skateboarding. I'm skating  pair at the moment but since they have been discontinued I need to find a new Numeric vulc and have some 272s on ice to try but also want to try the 574s.

I also have some NB hybrid hiking/ trail runners (Fresh Foam Hierro) I'm stoked on. Should have got the waterproof version but got a great deal on them.

I would agree too. The 600s did everything better I didn't like about the 1010.
