Just got the foy 80’s in. Put them on my feet and the difference between the og ones without the elastic tongue strap is heaps different. The heel slip would be terrible on the og ones. Had to lace them to the top and even then my foot would slip out. Curious to try the 808 lights as I have some qualms with the og 808s.
[close]

I always thought the 480s run half a size too big. Even the regular non skate 480s feel a bit too long in my usual size. But that is just my opinion.

Are we already have a release date for the 808L?

Did anyone notice the latest white 480 on new balance is offered in a wide??? Curious if that is in the heel? Or forefoot.

Both CWs offer it

Thanks for reminding me that the only NB shoe I’d want is that new foy 480 color way.

I mean that doesn’t even look like a skate shoe. 100% boomer dad shoe right there.
[close]

Yea, this colorway ain't doing it for me either. And in general the 933 has some dad vibes, but I think that's kinda the point.

480s are working juuuust fine though.

I really like that foy colorway but my fragile ankles can't skate lows lol.

I wear NB 990, 991, 993, etc and these are not something I would ever consider wearing. Colorway is terrible, heel colors look horrible with the rest, and it's way too many concepts mixed into one. Just doesn't work.

I agree completely. Trying to see the bright side with these shoes, but after like years of waiting I really don't think these are for me. The four colorways really should have been one or two. Do grey and navy. Do an all black or brown shoe. I feel the most bad for the shops that had to go and order these without as much as a single photo to see what it looked like. My local didn't seem happy about that.

The Reynolds shoe keeps getting better every time I see it. Looks like it will skate really well based on seeing the most recent pics. The toe shape looks good for flickin and the heel section looks hype.
Can’t wait for it!

I think they look great, I’m just worried they’re not going to have enough boardfeel for me. I just started skating the 600, it’s the first shoe with a full midsole I’ve ever skated, and while it’s amazing for my 30 year old joints I don’t have the same confidence I do in other shoes. I'm sure I’ll grow to love them but if the 933 is much thicker I’ll probably have to pass.

The 600 is probably the thickest I can go with NB#. One of the best shoes I've ever skated, too. An awesome combination of boardfeel and protection. They also start to feel thinner as they wear out, to the point of almost feeling too flimsy at the end of their lifecycle. But they're skateable from the get-go with pretty much zero break-in time.

Anyway, no amount of breaking in e.g. the 480 (the other "Reynolds shoe") seems to make them skateable for me. They're just too friggin' thick. So if that's any indication of the boardfeel with the 933, it's probably gonna be a pass for me too.

But for folks who like thicker shoes, the 933 is probably gonna be the bee's knees.

Yeah I felt at the end of my last session they were starting to click with me as they broke in more, but it's still weird not feeling the board slap into the balls of your feet as you catch a kickflip. I feel like I need to make the move to bulkier shoes anyway because Blazers and Last Resorts aren't doing it for me anymore and the Leo Baker shoe felt too flimsy almost straight away. The 600 feels way more well made than anything I've skated before.

Super jealous of you guys being able to skate 600, for me they feel too thin. I might try to put on them that FP insole I got. If it works I'd be beyond happy.

Could be the trick for you. With the 600 I go with the stock insole at first, but once the shoes have started to wear out and reach the latter part of their lifecycle, I slip in FP Gamechangers (other insoles work as well I bet) and get a bit more out of the shoes still.

I got hooked up with a pair of the Village Psychic 1010's and I get the hype!  This is my first pair of 1010's, and at almost 48, I think these are the perfect shoe (for my foot).  I couldn't be more psyched on both Chris, and NB, for sending me a pair and it's safe to say they've earned my loyalty for a while.  I couldn't be more grateful!

This made me actually give the 1010 another try. Something felt off to me the last time due to the sizing.

7.5 US in 306, 440, 808 and the 600 launch colorway

(7.25 US new versions of the 600)

7 US in 480 and maybe 1010

What's the sizing consensus for the 1010 from the pals?

I agree

i agree too.

also i know i sound like a broken record on this but they redid the fit on newer models and the 1010s fit me great now. before the fixing i had heelslip no matter what.

so what you wanna look for is the second lacing hole from the top- earlier models had that made of some canvas with a metal eyelet. on the newer ones this eyelet is made of rubber- as stated, at least to me they feel and fit better!

Wishing you good luck on the fit and fun with the shoes

Thank you for pointing this out!   Was about to pull the trigger on a second pair of 1010's off depop (awesome colorway and looked brand new) and looked and it had the eyelets you said sucked.  Ended up paying $15 more and finding a new pair with the new eyelet in a color way that was almost as good haha

Did anyone notice the latest white 480 on new balance is offered in a wide??? Curious if that is in the heel? Or forefoot.

Curious about this too.  I find the toebox to be good in the normal 480, but the midfoot is a little narrow.

I'm curious too. The normal ones made my foot roll at the heel because it's too narrow. I will say tho, it is getting a bit better with wear. Maybe the sole is getting soft enough to not suddenly tip over every time you step at an angle.

The thing about Andrew Reynolds is that he can make any shoe look good on footage.
So whether u like the new shoe or not, they will grow on you when u see him skating them.

He even made those nasty emerica reynolds 3 lights look on footage... ew

I'm US: 8 and have 600 both in 8 and 8.5. I feel that the 8 is a little too tight and 8.5 a little too big... 8.25 on 600 would be a dream.

If you didn't have any I would have sent a pair your way.  My daughter has been wearing them to school, so they are dirty but not really skated and have a ton of life left

sounds sick!

Wanna drop a DM or post in here about your experience with the different fits? been hearing mixed stuff- some can tell the fit is different, some don't feel any difference. i guess it depends on your foot- or heelshape.

i'd be interested at least but hope you have a good time with both shoes. wich colorways are they if you don't mind?

Depop/ Vinted seems pretty good for some nearly new shoes lately. Plus 1010s are usually easy to find on sale too
