95 thru early 2000's I rode 7.775's, then it jumped up to about an 8 and later on to an 8.5 for a few years.  Took a while to realize it but all my flip tricks but kickflips, fakie flips, n frontside flips slowly went extinct...  Got bummed, about a half a year ago said, "Fuck it" n pulled out n old 7.775 anti-hero I had stashed in the closet n gave it a whirl, I figured I'm 33, what do I gotta lose?  All  my flip tricks came back lightning fast n I was happy like a fat kid eatin cake but it didn't take me long to find out that my pop (height and length), my balance on ledges (especially rails), and not to mention wallrides and just about anything with transistion suffered.  So a couple months ago I went up to an 8 and that's been doin me real good personally ever since.  In my experience, it's pretty much a give or take type of situation.
