That video, cringe worthy all around, not even remotely funny.

I had zero interest in the brand prior, but now I'll never buy a wknd product (let alone a Koston one).

Portions of the skate industry need to die.

Welcome to Slap:

Where someone will be convinced Johnny Pro is on Nike after seeing his wife wearing a pair of their running shoes while at the same time be convinced a rider is only a "guest" even when appearing on a company's team page.
We all know you have two sexy anthropomorphic wolves who buttfuck each other on the bottom of your board.

I was really surprised to see this. Thought Austyn would be the first pro for sure. Then again, I know Koston always supported WKND since day one (he always had that orange WKND logo cruiser).

I don't care how kooky Koston has been for the past 5 years, I want that Koston and Johan board!

Or he realized that a board that says "Eric Koston" will generate a lot more money than one that says "Raymond Molinar"

Koston is probably doing this to keep his name on a board and give the WKND kids a few shekels to keep the lights on until his thing starts up.

Here's my opinion of how it went / will go down.

Grant and Koston are friends and work together on a lot of projects, Grant also films for Nike.
Koston and Guy are starting a brand, but it takes time to start a brand.
Grant came up with the idea of Koston riding for WKND in the interim, offering him a pro board which would sell and he would be able to collect royalties. Also this will increase demand for WKND and allow them to start ordering more boards. Basically a jumpstart to their already strong sales. All in all it's a favor from Koston because Grant benefits way more than Koston does.

I bet Koston will have several WKND boards.

Once Koston and Guy's company is fully running, Koston will leave WKND and Grant will make another funny video about that.
WKND will have a little increase in brand loyalty so their sales levels will remain higher after Koston leaves.

Also once Austyn is fully on there will be a video about that. I hope they tie in the Koston / Austyn thing, could be a funny video.

Austyn Prediction: Rest of the year to film a full part. Koston leaves. Austyn on + part drop.

I feel the same way. Just some free advertising advice but they should make a commerical saying they fucked up in the printing of the boards it was suppose to say ASTN instead of KSTN.

Doubt this is long term, but if it is I really hope Guy goes to Hockey. Guy putting out a raw non-overproduced part in the way FA films stuff would be golden. More likely we get a Ty filmed Guy part for Nike.

Don't know why people think this is just a guest thing. Koston was riding WKND boards before he even left Girl. WKND was just a homie brand that couldn't afford to have a real pro team. Koston needed a board sponsor and I guess also wanted to do his own thing. Seems beneficial for everyone if he joins a homie brand that he likes and hasn't really taken off too too much so he still can have input and mold the brand. WKND already has a team and already makes boards. Now that Koston is on I guess they hope to boost sales and make the other guys pro as well. WKND was still so small that in reality it isn't much different than Koston starting his own brand but with less work for him.

However, I don't know how I feel about this move. I actually liked the WKND guys and Koston just isn't producing like he was. I don't care that he's an internet bully too much but I just don't see him as a legitimate pro anymore. I know that kind of goes for a lot of pros that are milking it worse than he is but Molinar wasn't slapping his name on WKND boards even though he could. I just felt WKND was cooler without a big name like Koston. I liked that a lot of the team ripped but there were no pros. But i guess this will be better for the brand and everyone overall.

Its funny people think Koston is just doing guest models for them out of pity. Also what is even the basis on the rumor of Koston and Guy starting a company together? Just that they both left Girl at the same time? Nah, I think this is legit and Guy will either be on FA/Hockey, Primitive, or starts a new company. Or maybe he gets on WKND too. Who fucking knows anymore.

Are you comfortable with talking about your board sponsor status?

There’s not much that I’m going to give you on that end right now. There’s an “under construction” sign hanging on it. Right now I’m just trying to find some other sponsors to tide me over for a little while. I’ve talked to Grant Yansura over at WKND to see if he can do something for me in the meantime, then Brad Staba over at Skate Mental. I might two-time both of those guys and ride for both of them just to supplement me until I get this thing off the ground.

geez you'd think the last thing Koston needs right now is more self-deprecating comedy. Or at least, that's what I would think.

Well, the good thing about this is that if he needs two board sponsors, then he needs twice as many boards, which means he's out skating a lot and being incredibly productive. Based on this irrefutable logic, he'll be putting out lots of entertaining video parts. So this is excellent news.

If it is just a temporary thing (which i think it is) its pretty dope of Koston considering he's been a sour douche the past several years (over the internet, at least.)

Supporting a homies brand and helping them make it bigger is cooler then skating a gold board or one with a fucking question mark on it for a year
