Did you even read this? They recommend buying an insole to improve them aka lunarlon. Then the lady says they aren't ideal for someone walking around 8-10 hours a day. No shit

All shoes are bad for your feet

Kenya don't even got shoes and they're always #1,2,3 in long distance events  ;)

The arch of the foot naturally reduces impact, if it isn't able to, that energy will travel up your knees/back/neck etc. Of course, we are talking about skateboarding here, not walking, skateboarding is putting your feet through trauma, and don't forget that some pain is normal when trauma is experienced. I don't really believe whatever insoles they don't even recommend will lessen that trauma. I also don't think that the inability of your shoe to bend will either. How uncomfortable would it be to skate around in shoes that didn't bend in the shank?

Always amazed me how skaters can skate in Chucks, or all vulc shoes for that matter. I mean they have good board feel, but horrible protection. I mean why would you let your feet be protected by a thin layer of suede/canvas? Skateboarding hurts and its ridiculous that kids would skate in shit that'll ruin you in a day.

Those CONS Chucks have that insole so they're prolly not bad. It's just that the current trend is to combine them with a stupid ass outfit. Russo is one of the only ones I've seen that wears them with correctly fitting pants in the length.

I have flat feet and have had a lot of problems due to it and every doctor I've talked to has said the same thing. They all recommend really . supportive running shoes with little flexibility under your arch. They also all have told me that skate shoes are probably the worst shoes you could wear with flat feet.

for fucks sake, if your feet are hurting, get footprints. theres a reason 99% of people only have good things to say about them. i have never met anybody who doesnt like footprints. they fucking work. get the ones with the arch support if you have flat feet, get the flat ones if you have a high arch. skating even a vulc shoe with an arch support footprint feels better than any cupsole shoe with a flat stock insole.

That is a different situation, if you have flat feet, there is no arch to dampen the impact, hence the need for a shock absorbent insole. Doctors recommend running shoes because most have built in arches, but when doctors say that skate shoes are "the worst shoes you could wear with flat feet" they are probably thinking of vans slip ons or the chuck taylor, not Nike SB Project BAs (which are the best).

Shoes are just glorified packing material for cum boxes

I have a cum box. It's a shoebox, or at least once was, and whenever I masturbate I cum into it. I've had it for two or three years now I think, so it has a fair amount of cum. It smells atrocious, and I tried to burn it once. When I lit it on fire, it was too damp due to the cum that it simply sizzled and didn't manage to actually lite up. Turns out burning cum smells awful, so I had to spray it with a deodorant body spray just to get the old smell of burnt cum away. It also has some drenched papers stuck to it. That's pretty much it.

I haven't laughed that hard a while as I was after reading mcpeepants post.

On the topic, my mom said that about chuck taylors since the day one when I was a kid and played basketball and that's why she thankfully never got me a pair. If you're involved in anything that contains jumping that leads an impact on your feet and knees as you land on a solid ground, then chuck taylors are probably your worst choice and you might end up with fucked up joints. Any vulc of a like are mostly the same. Skateboarding especially puts your body through impact and height even if that's just back and forth knee high ledge session. So I never understood how can someone even jump a legit 3 stair in them several times. And I would say none of my cupsoles have flat arches, but instead built in arches in the shoe, so that is also a reason why I just wear cupsoles, though a lot of nowadays slimmed down models don't deliver the same experience of support and protection. So I try to stay away from very slimmed down or overly "clean/simple" designs as well.

Airwalk, Etnies, Vision Shoes, etc. essentially came into being because skaters were destroying their heels and knees skating jump ramps in Chucks and Vans.

Etnies, yes. Airwalk and Vision, no. Their first shoes were pretty much Vans with ollie reinforcement and / or lace protection (both brands started out with vulcanized models).
It wasn't until the Airwalk Prototype that tech was introduced into skate specific footwear. The Prototype was Airwalk's answer to the Air Jordan.

If you look at the original Vans Sk8-Hi, it didn't have suede in the ollie area. In the 80s, Vans was super slow to adapt to what skaters actually needed and were focusing on boat shoes and casual wear. This is what lead to Airwalk and Vision getting into the game.
