Those have suede underneath the corduroy, so they are not.

I wish they would just make a vegan Half Cab in the main run, surely in this day and age there would be demand for at least one colourway, right?

Right?!

I don't skate vulcs but I do fucks with Half Cabs. I just hate the only ones that come up from time-to-time are stinking or expensive.

Gonna ask in here to avoid the trolls, but what's the word on glues used for decks? Like I know rendering factories make products used for glues. Please tell me BBS wood is grand.

nah, unless beautiful planet starts dropping some of their shoes?
I just copped some I-path crickets in hemp/ synth but my superstar advs still have a lot of life left in them.
I guess we can't really expect anything from emerica anymore either...
Wish LRAB would just hurry up and drop a vegan cup

The field of vegan skate shoes is looking pretty bleak right now. I get so annoyed and borderline cynical with these recurring vegan shoe famines. It gets me thinking: maybe I should put on my outspoken/loud vegan hat and DM all these shoe brands explaining why they should regularly make vegan shoes. Maybe I should (again) test out non abrasive grip tapes. Maybe I should find another activity for my free time.

How are you all doing?

it’s bleak no doubt, but our niche market isn’t really enough to make most brands even want to pretend like they’re caring …
I’m really liking my now broken in always adidas superstar advs, but they were so limited, how hard is it to make a synth black/white colourway and toss it to us every few seasons.
I still think i-path, beautiful planet (when it drops), LRAB (if they can give us a vegan cup) and #NB (where’s that vegan 1010 at?) are our only hopes at this point.
What shoes are you currently wearing and are you enjoying them?
I think we should try and do more reviews in here of shoes we actually skate, because most of us have to really gamble on random models that most of the time we can’t even try on…
(Or at least that is my situation)

I am skating the etnies windrow for the second time now and got 2 other pairs lined up because there doesn't seem to be anything new coming out in the near future.

At first I thought that it won't last very long but it is actually really durable.
Unfortunetly it is not available anymore. This shoe in just black would be really cool.
Hope there will be some new synth shoes from etnies in the future.

I too am skating the Etnies Windrows right now. I bought 2 pairs a couple months ago. They are a decent shoe, surprisingly durable. I like them enough that I would regularly buy and skate them, but Etnies seems to not have them most of the time I check. Black Windrows would be dope.

And I agree, I think the "demand" for vegan shoes is barely a blip on the shoe industry radar right now. But wtf, why were there so many (most) shoes made out of synthetic materials like 20 years ago and hardly any now? Have cow farming subsidies made leather/suede that much cheaper? It annoys the shit out of me that these companies will spit this "eco friendly, recycled material, plant-a-tree" shit, but then they straight up have mostly shoes made out of dead cow skin. But, of course, it's all business. And profit is the primary focus for all these brands.

Gray Imp: Do you know if Beautiful Planet will definitely have vegan shoes or is that just the hope?

Matt Rodriguez said they will!

I feel you with all the synth options of the past; in the tech-show hey day nearly every shoe was synth. The most mind boggling thing for me (despite the obvious environmental destruction and death to cows) is why would you want your shoe to purposely bag out into a floppy potato? I didn’t like that feeling even when I did skate non-vegan shoes…

I'm interested to try the corduroy VM003's from the newest LRAB drop because they have the "padded" collar that so far only the suede version VM003's have had. But it's interesting that the LRAB site doesn't label them as vegan, which they're usually pretty good about doing...

Are you sure ?
If I had to guess I'd say most of them were not vegan, it's easy to put that little suede patch somewhere.
A lot of them probably were by accident but still a minority.

The Creager for instance, where they vegan ?

I agree though, there's very little on offer nowadays.

Anyone able to clear this up? Some places say the logo tab on the tongue is leather, others say faux leather. The rest of the shoe seems vegan.

finally getting around to skating my black/gum accels and they're honestly really good. the synthetic suede they used seems to last longer than regular suede. It holds shape better too. it's a shame they seem to have abandoned vegan models for the time being.

edit: decided to check and these say synthetic / mesh? eS doesn't have a vegan section on their site anymore though.

I have zero faith in this one. The swoosh is labeled as “faux snakeskin” but that probably means it’s just genuine leather debossed with a snake pattern

Curious to hear any reviews on that one. Not a fan of decathlon nor the model but it only looks half bad and if that means an affordable vegan option...
