fyi, the es imprint kevlar has the animal skin icon on its materials sticker.  ditto for the etnies marana og that shows up when you select the animal-friendly category.

Etnies has some new vegan Maranas up. White ones just say leather but support said they're vegan. Considering grabbing the white ones, but my last pair of Maranas were horrible on my feet. Rubber toe caps never seem to work with my wide ass feet.

the white ones have the animal skin icon on the materials sticker.  I'd trust the manufacturer's info over some etnies customer service person (though of course either/both could potentially be unreliable on something like this).

for what it's worth, I got a pair of the copper ones, and the midsole seems harder/stiffer than past versions, and the toebox seems more cramped.  maybe they need to be broken in now, but not sure I'm willing to spend that time, they just seem pretty crappy (I have never really liked maranas, they have always seemed like a bootleg imitation of a real shoe, but sometimes they have been the best available vegan option).  (fallen's vegan patriot is still the best vegan cupsole I've found, but they're out of my size now, so I'm stuck looking for a next-best substitute again.)

Mine arrived, but I bought them local. Trying them on, they seem solid solid, true to size and the rubber toe cap doesn’t squash my toes. Wondering how they will fit/ feel if I swap the insoles

Any report on swapping insoles and the fit?

The blacked out crickets are pretty sick!  The OG tan crickets were one of my favorite shoes back in the day.  One of the few shoes I actually had multiple pairs of.

Not sure if Clear Weather’s actually exist but these came up as vegan is the description. Would like to actually try on, but they look cooler than Vans authentic highs in my mind.

They exist. Cowtown had the green, brown and all black pairs at some point, but they only have the black/white pair in 9 and 9.5 currently. I wanted a pair and almost got the geeen ones during Cowtown sales, but I didn’t want to support KA even though I really liked the way the shoes look.

In a moment of weakness, I bought the white ones on a deep discount from CCS about a year ago. Sizing is standard, similar to Vans Skate vulcs.

There are other reasons not to support him. Plus, there are two synthetic colorways of the Heritic that are being marked down since they’re from previous seasons. They aren’t as clean as the Warsaw shoe, but they’re half the price.

Having said that, heretic has gotten fairly bad reviews across the board in terms of quality esp. in the outsole dept.

Really? That outsole is quite nice & durable aside from the unfortunate lack of midsole on the OG-1 I've skated a handful of already. Quite grippy, not too thin, flexible, and it lasts a long time: outsole and bottom of the sole.

Wonder if it wears differently on the Heritic upper?

hmmm, I don’t think it wears differently from the OG-1 tbh, but I haven’t heard good things about either shoe, but yeah the insole is probably a major factor too

My friend sent me a link to these and now I'm being bombarded with ads from them, but the FP Alpha is being advertised as 100% vegan across all colorways. Looks like they have 5 different styles of the Alpha also?

I saw those and like the idea of FP material in the tongue but need mid/high and barefoot style toe box so those are a no go for me. But using their insole material on top of the shoe too? Brilliant idea.

The first Cons chuck taylor skate's had memory foam in the tongues and it rocked. Not sure why that didn't catch on

Only thing I can think of is maybe not enough ventilation? Not sure but main reason I want Mids/high tops is for padding protection and don’t care about the ankle support as long as the shoe fits securely. Having better padding around the top sounds great to me unless there are drawbacks we aren’t thinking of.

Perhaps if someone see's these in real life they can check the materials tag, as I'm not sure I believe this... but the World Cup editions of Busenitz cup and vulc both show as synthetic uppers on the Adidas website (whereas all the other colorways of those shoes say some combination of leather/suede and synthetic). I find it hard to believe, and it's not like they haven't mislabeled things in the past.

https://www.adidas.com/us/busenitz-vulc-ii-shoes/HQ4711.html

https://www.adidas.com/us/busenitz-shoes/HQ4708.html

Also noticed a couple of other skate colorways that showed as synthetic only uppers:

https://www.adidas.com/us/campus-adv-shoes/KI5725.html

https://www.adidas.com/us/gazelle-adv-shoes/KI3208.html
