Which Bearings Are You Guys Running?
« on: April 14, 2018, 07:33:18 PM »
What bearings are you guys using? I'm a fan of Bones Swiss and I had some blank ceramic bearings that were just as fast.
Looking for suggestions for a new build.

Seriously - this is the easiest question to answer about your whole set up , and the answer has been the same since the start of enclosed bearings . If your not riding bones Swiss you are blowing it , unless your riding bones ceramics.
Anyone who says any different is wrong .
Every other bearing company is trying to replicate them, but can't -
Case closed .

Nice, another topic where people are coming to claim that they run reds for 5years and they are as good as swiss. They’re not. Swiss or gtfo.

main setup: bones swiss
2nd setup: 11:11
zipzagger: 11:11
cruiser: mini logo

in my opinion 11:11 bearings are the best budget bearings.

Bones Swiss 6, first set in almost 20 years of skating and I don't think I'm going back.

Been running a set of bronson g2s for about a year now. Theyre still going pretty strong. Gonna grab some more in a few weeks. Had some of those 6 ball swiss and hated rhem, after 2 1/2 months they were all sludgey and two of them broke in the same day. Diggin what bronson puts out and will probably just keep skating those. 30 bucks and theyre the best bearings Ive ever skated.

Running three setups:

Swiss Six (same set for many years)

Bronson G3s (have had them since they launched and have had ZERO issues; just cleaned and lubed them too)

Indy Blacks (still going strong, again had them since launch)

ive been running my reds for about that long never had any issues, roll great. Can't beat $18 for 5 years of good times. Never saw the need to spend the extra dough. Different strokes.

All my Reds, Super Reds have ended with cracked crowns.

Im on a set of swiss 6's that are 2 years strong. Ive cleaned up with acetone twice and use speed cream every 2 months and they're strong as ever.

I also have a set of Swiss in my drawer i used for 3-4 years that i stopped using to try the current 6's im using.

Bronson Raw in one setup and Andale Blues in another.

The Raws are cool because they are indeed loud as hell.  The thin stock lube evaporated and spun out after the first week.  I relubed them with the Bronson ceramic lube and they've been fine ever since.  I always said popping shields was moronic but then I bought shieldless bearings so what do I know  ;D

From now on I only plan on buying Andale Blues.  They're fast, smooth, trouble free and only cost $14.

The only bearing I've ever used that felt noticeably faster than any other bearing were Swiss 6.  Those are the truth but mine started to rust early and that annoyed me

Modus abec 7 without the shields...fast and they keep their speed. I got them from 1 year. The other bearings I got were andale abec 5 and reds, I broke them both.

Are Swiss really that much better? I'm riding Super Reds right now and they seem pretty great. Every time I happen to need new bearings I'm broke but I'm debating splurging on some.

My cruiser has been riding the same Reds for about 5 years now. Those things regularly go through rain, dirt, mud, and dust and still roll flawlessly. I've been through 3 pairs of Swiss on my 'regular' board in the same time span.
