my friend was saying was I worried about cracking through the truck mid grind and going absolutely flying... these are titanium axles so they still probably have a bit to go. I wonder how mcuh though? they still feel pretty sturdy

Mine went nearly entirely through the hollow axle and never cracked, the entire hang gave. So you've got a ways to go safely I think

Using my top bushings from these trucks to ease into some Venture 5.8s.

Hoping to break these this year. I'd be as happy to display them as Ralphie's dad was with the Leg Lamp in A Christmas Story.

How many times do you all change your wheels per truck set. I feel like for me it’s a new set new trucks then new wheels at some point until the trucks are toasted. Usually 54-56 conical fulls/Og classics f4 spits.  I’m a slappy skater btw. Curious to hear how many wheels you went thru in a truck’s life.

Nice af1 destruction. Love this thread. I feel like my af1 have been slow to grind down whereas the stage 4 Indys I’m on seem to be grinding down faster. Don’t mind the quicker wear the grind feels good and having deep grooves sooner is a plus.

id say im halfway through my trucks lifespan and im 2 sets of 54/56 f4's (exactly like you) in at the moment

if all goes well, i think itll take 4 sets total to kill them trucks. theyre about a year and some change old at this point, so 2 full years to kill them

im an atv for context. ledges, transition, rails & curbs. you name it, i skate it

How many times do you all change your wheels per truck set.

I love super tiny wheels for slappy combos, so I usually just like to do 1 set of wheels per set of trucks. I end up usually just switching wheels because I am messing around with the setup and want to try something different. I actually used a set of 55mm Bones STF wheels down to like 45mm that i took across 2 sets of trucks!

that set of indy titaniums I rode from October until June while also riding a set of 8.75 Aces on my rails board that I have almost axled as well. I unfortunately left that axled setup at the spot like the day after I posted that photo and then I started a new set of thunder 148s June 1st and I have almost axled those already too. I have started riding the nose just to try and get more wear on everything and getting my first nice switch groove going too! cant wait to post those 2 trucks and thne get a new set of 151s to replace the Aces.

A lot of people will never axle a truck, you're in rarefied air. enjoy your achievement.

Hahah. I knew it was close so went for one more session. When it actually broke through to the bushings I totally lost control and got pitched forward into the ground. There were metal shards on the curb stuck in the wax.

i go based off the amount of decks I’ve had. usually, I’ll set up new wheels every 3 decks. sometimes more than 3 decks, but rarely less than 3 decks.
This has me cracking up, what exactly does Black Flag have to do with measuring your dick starting behind ya nuts?

Ace classics 44 from before af1 came out. On af1 now. Wish they had 8.38 af1

Retired these because the front top bushing is splitting and the trucks are getting looser without being able to tighten them. Gonna give them to a friend that wants to try skating so passing them along.

^Fuck those are sick. Gnar gnar gnar. Can't wait to finally join the club this year, after many years...Never axled a truck before and my thunders are getting close.

How long did it take you and what kind of skating? I'm mainly skating smooth ledges and flat bars, so it takes forever

What is it about seeing well worn trucks that is so satisfying?

I feel like it's the opposite when it comes to wheels.
