Haven't seen this posted yet:

Documents a 6 month deployment of danish soldiers in Afghanistan, making great use of 1st person cameras. Gets pretty grim.

"I think we're alone now" is pretty nuts. It's only an hour, I'd suggest to watch it.

I just clicked play on "Until the Light Takes Us". I'm hopeful about it.

Until the Light Takes Us isn't too illuminating if you know anything about the Norwegian black metal scene already. I was pretty disappointed by it. They didn't follow up on a lot of the interviews/discussions as they should have. The Varg footage is probably its saving grace.

That pretty much sums up how I felt when I was done. It was ok, could have been a lot better. It's still pretty cool watching interviews with Varg and Fenriz, though.

Caught this documentary by Chris Tucker called Good hair last night at like 3 AM on tv. wouldn't suggest anyone go out of their way to watch it but it was definitely a good insomniatic watch. Black women spend anywhere from 3-5k a month on their weaves and maintenance. shits wild

Real life gypsy bare knuckle fighting doc. Super good.

it's not a torrent, it'll play in your browser.

http://www.putlocker.com/file/0695E6FD457F1D17#
Good call - watched Knuckle last week on BBC, it's fascinating, grim & gnarly in equal measure.

Unbridled corruption, greed & contempt for everybody but themselves, the Enron execs were utter cunts of the highest order.

Same dude, Alex Gibney, directed that Eliot Spitzer documentary I linked to a while back.  Worth watching if this is the sort of thing that floats your boat.

A story of Iran and Shia Islam:

Although it's a movie and not literally a documentary, but it's as accurate as a movie can be.
The Battle of Algiers, about the struggle for Algerian independence from the French.

There is a torrent with a better quality version of the film.

ha, every time I've tried watching Helvetica, it's sent me straight to sleep.

Just watched this recently -

Have yet to watch the rest of series, but when Herzog's involved, it's a sign of quality.

:)  I find with these docu's I can really dig them one day, but other days I know if I tried watching them I'd prob not be feeling it.  It took me about 4 times to watch Beautiful Losers, and only the last time did I actually enjoy most of it.  The first couple of times I couldn't get into it for some reason and always switched off after about 20 mins of it to watch some action flick

This takes place in the same landfill in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil where they shot the film, Wasteland, about a community that lives off of the refuse.

Estamira is a 63 year old schizophrenic woman who manages to survive in the landfill. She talks about her ideas and philosophies of life, the universe and religion (or her lack thereof), albeit from the point of view of someone who has suffered emotionally, physically, and mentally throughout her life. She has seemingly delusional rantings and exhibits nonsensical 'speaking in tongues' while the rest of the film is mixed with periods of her intense, peculiar insight fueled by a furious, inconsolable anger and 'profound depression'.

This is in Portuguese, w/o subtitles.
